Today, AMC Networks’ Acorn TV revealed the premiere date, trailer and photos for Season 2 of Recipes for Love and Murder, the South African culinary mystery series starring Maria Doyle Kennedy.

Hailed by critics as a “mix of human drama, gorgeous landscape, local color and mouthwatering cooking” (New York Times) with a “one-of-a-kind heroine” (Variety), Season 2 of the eight-episode Acorn TV original series debuts with a two-episode premiere on Monday, March 3 on Acorn TV, with new episodes releasing weekly.

When a massive fire engulfs the small town of Eden, a fateful chain of events is triggered and Tannie Maria (Doyle Kennedy), Jessie and Khaya get dragged into a multiple murder investigation that unearths the town’s darkest secrets.

Deadline reports that filming has wrapped on a serial killer action thriller called The Neglected, which was shot in Mississippi and stars Josh Duhamel (Shotgun Wedding). Duhamel’s co-stars include Dylan Sprouse (The Duel), Til Schweiger (Inglourious Basterds), Jeremy London (Mallrats), Jason London (Dazed and Confused), and Elena Sanchez (Devil’s Peak).

Directed and produced by David Lipper, who also crafted the script with Adam G. Levine, The Neglected tells the story of Detective Shaw (Josh Duhamel), who is about to retire when he finds out on his last day of work that a serial killer has buried his son alive. He then races against the clock to solve three murders and find his son’s location before he runs out of air.

BondIt Media Capital provided the financing. Lipper is producing the film alongside Robert A. Daly Jr. of Latigo, Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton, Denise Loren, Mark Fasano, and Ryan Winterstern.

Screen has obtained the first-look image from Justin Chadwick’s action thriller Sierra Madre starring Kiefer Sutherland, which has begun production in Colombia with a host of new cast additions. Highland Film Group continues worldwide sales at the AFM this week.

Two of Batman’s most popular foes, Bane and Deathstroke, are set to share the screen as Warner Bros’ new look DC Universe continues to take shape.

Both Bane and Deathstroke have graced cinema screens before. When it comes to the comic books, the duo are among the more beloved members of Batman’s colourful cast of villains, and it looks like that popularity has led to a supervillain team-up movie that will introduce the characters to James Gunn’s all-new DC Universe.

Next year will see Warner Bros’ new line of DC movies kick off with Superman: Legacy, written and directed by Gunn himself. Following that, a string of films have been announced including a Batman movie, The Brave And The Bold and Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow. Then there are planned TV shows such as HBO’s Lanterns, a space cop series that will feature the Green Lantern corps.

With the HBO series The Penguin and the upcoming sequel Joker: Folie a Deux already earning rave reviews, DC Studios doesn’t look to be done focusing on Batman bad guys. Sources confirm to Deadline that the studio is in early development on a new movie involving classic Gotham villains Bane and Deathstroke. Matthew Orton has been set to pen the script, with DC Studio co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran producing.

No director is attached, and the studio had no comment.

Exact plot details are still uncertain and sources also stressed the two characters would be in the movie but it’s unclear if they would be the central figures of the project.

Both characters are beloved to fans of the comics, with Bane especially gaining popularity over the years after Christopher Nolan made him the main antagonist in The Dark Knight Rises, with Tom Hardy playing the main role.

With a big-budget Joker movie just weeks away and a Penguin HBO series freshly unveiled, a few other DC villains are being targeted for the spotlight.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Bane, the super-steroid injecting antagonist who was previously seen in the 2012 Christopher Nolan movie The Dark Knight Rises, and Deathstroke, another popular archnemesis in the comic book company’s fold, are being lassoed together for a movie. Tom Hanks and Robin Wright experience pivotal moments at one very important place in the trailer for Here.

Sony’s TriStar Pictures is set to release director Robert Zemeckis’ drama feature in theaters on Nov. 15. Here tells the story of multiple families over the course of generations, with the entire film taking place in a single location, which becomes the home where Hanks’ and Wright’s characters reside. The trailer shows an early exchange between the characters, along with glimpses at their future ups and downs.

“Time sure does fly, doesn’t it?” Hanks tells Wright in the trailer, leading her to reply, “It sure does.”

With reshoots ongoing on Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, a ton of new set photos have been surfacing online over the past few days and the latest batch reveals star Anthony Mackie ("Sam Wilson/Captain America") suited up in his classic white-and-blue suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, essentially reaffirming that he'll be sporting multiple looks in the eagerly-awaited Marvel blockbuster.

As per a recent report, the additional photography isn't expected to be particularly extensive, and should conclude within another week or two. New action sequences were expected to be added, so based on what we're seeing in these photos, it looks like they might be shooting a new opening for the film, where Mackie sports his first Captain America suit.

Kiefer Sutherland is set to star in action thriller Sierra Madre.

The story centers on Sutherland’s Captain Jordan Wright and his squadron, who are granted leave from their mission to attend a crewmate’s wedding in Mexico. While there, festivities are interrupted by a murderous cartel, and, as Jordan attempts to lead his remaining men to safety, war breaks out between his squad and the cartel. Jordan has to engage in a full-scale battle to save his men.

The project, which is being sold out of the Cannes film market by Highland Film Group, is set to be directed by Justin Chadwick from a script by and Delbert Hancock and The Grey writer Ian Mackenzie Jeffers. Production is due to start this fall in Colombia, with Robert Stein (The Call), James Keach (Walk the Line) and Griff Furst (Devil’s Peak) producing.

US and South Africa-based outfit Nthibah Pictures, whose genre film Boy Kills World goes out on 2,400 screens in the US this Friday (April 26), has revealed its next feature project, Project Legion, to be directed by Jozua Malherbe.

It is the first since parent company Talent10 Holdings Investment Group confirmed a multi-million dollar investment into Nthibah from the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (Idc).

In the realm of upcoming Marvel projects, many faced delays due to the historic 118-day SAG-AFTRA strike that recently concluded, disrupting Hollywood productions. Amidst these challenges, the fourth installment in the Captain America series, ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ encountered issues not directly linked to the strike.

Initially, the film swapped release dates with ‘Deadpool 3’ as it was only halfway through production when the strike hit. Rumors later circulated about additional reshoots prompted by less-than-satisfactory test screenings and underwhelming action sequences compared to previous series entries.

Marvel Studios has now enlisted screenwriter Matthew Orton, according to Deadline, known for his work on ‘Operation Finale,’ ‘Devil’s Peak,’ and the successful Disney+ series ‘Moon Knight,’ to handle the reshoots. The additional round is scheduled for spring-summer 2024. Despite the setback, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ won’t hit screens in 2024; its release was pushed to February 14, 2025, pending successful reshoots.

Marvel Studios has added screenwriter Matthew Orton to the production of “Captain America: Brave New World,” ahead of the superhero sequel’s plans for additional photography sometime in the spring.

The Walt Disney Company announced a series of delays to its theatrical release slate shortly after the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Along with “Deadpool 3,” “Thunderbolts” and “Blade,” “Brave New World” was among the group of Marvel productions impacted, moving from a July 26, 2024 date to Feb. 14, 2025. That’s almost seven more months for the studio to work on the fourth “Captain America” film, which had already completed principal photography prior to the actors strike. Hopper Penn, the son of actors Sean Penn and Robin Wright, is weighing in on the nepo baby discourse to say that he isn’t one, and that he doesn’t care if people think he is.

“I don’t give a s— about that, because I’m not one,” Penn told Yahoo! Entertainment when asked if he was concerned with being labeled as a “nepo baby,” a term implying that some children of celebrities are only successful because of their famous parent’s nepotism.

Penn, who stars in “Devil’s Peak” alongside his mother, recalled discussing the topic while on set for “Let Me Go the Right Way,” a 2022 short film that critics tagged as a “nepotism film” due to its involvement with director Destry Allyn Spielberg, the daughter of Steven Spielberg, and writer Owen King, the son of Stephen King.

“It came up when we were shooting,” Penn said.
