Embracing his belief that comedy is the last raw form of expression, Deon Cole explains the right time to thank Jesus and the wrong time to say "welp."Embracing his belief that comedy is the last raw form of expression, Deon Cole explains the right time to thank Jesus and the wrong time to say "welp."Embracing his belief that comedy is the last raw form of expression, Deon Cole explains the right time to thank Jesus and the wrong time to say "welp."

Kinda reminds of Mike Epps, Deon Cole was not afraid to talk about real life situations and things that you can relate to...

I've loved stand-up shows since forming an unhealthy attachment to Eddie Murphy's Delirious way before it was appropriate for me to be a fan. My cousin gave me a copy of her audio tape and we had it memorized basically by 5th grade.
My love of stand up has stayed and I have been delighted to watch dozens upon dozens on Netflix and listen to comedians on Pandora on all car rides so I have heard about everyone who is even mildly popular.
I will say there are a number of specials that disappoint me and aren't nearly as funny as they should be to have a solo hour recorded. Deon Cole is hilarious, his special top notch, laugh out loud funny, but he has been under the radar for the most part and that is tragic!
I knew he was kinda funny from black-ish and writing for Conan, and I had caught various bits on Pandora that were really funny (I love his "I don't get jokes" friend calling hang-up bit, google it you won't be disappointed) but wasn't sure about a special.
I listened to it while mowing my lawn and my neighbors had to think I was mental ! I was laughing the whole hour, almost non-stop! Sometimes I would have to stop I was laughing so hard, or I would need to see it as he is a physical comic sometimes and needs a visual.
His jokes are smart, his message is good but not overdone or cheesy when he does a serious-ish moment or two in the show, and he is just flat-out funny. I think this special is one of the best and I'm sad that he isn't recognized more for his talents!
10/10 rating, this special is special! LOVED it!

It's been quite awhile since I've seen a comedian this funny. All the jokes were well written and Deon delivered them in precisely the manner that brought the most laughs. I enjoy seeing him on the TV show Blackish, but I did not know that he is this hilarious. Deon is going to be a rising star!
I didn't know Deon Cole before this show but I will for sure look out for his next shows from now on. Physically he reminds me a bit of Lionel Ritchie and a bit of Eddy Murphy but then much better build. He's quite agile during his show, which I like, it's much better then a static performer, it creates a good interaction with the audience. His jokes are sometimes subtle but certainly effective, but most of the time it's very straightforward, the kind of comedy you like or not, in my case I liked it a lot. There are a couple passages where he starts preaching a bit, and that was to me the weak spot of his otherwise excellent show. He should just stick to bringing his jokes like he did most of the show and he will for sure never fail to entertain.
Deon is funny....made me laugh out loud every few minutes. I give most Netflix comics a chance...most I turn off after 15 minutes. I did watch all of Deon and his comedy gets better and better. He is very good with the physical side of it too. He also gives women some real good advice about what they should and should not put up with.... Hope he makes some more comedy specials...
