I turn Word World on for my three year old son every morning and he loves watching his "friends" Frog, Pig, Duck, Ant, Sheep, Dog, Bear and the rest of the gang make words from letters and make a new word, for example: P-I-E is Pie or B-A-L-L is Ball . He loves the characters for they are fun, colorful and relay on one another for help and teaches about friendship. They teach us not to judge a person by the way they look or for what there name is but to judge them for who they are on the inside. It shows that one word can be made into a different word with the same letters like T-O-P top can be P-O-T pot, or words rhyme with other words like T-I-E tie rhymes with P-I-E pie. At the end of the show they have a catchy song as they build the last word and then after the word is finished.
This show has helped him to pick up reading and spelling and he doesn't care cause it such a fun show to watch with him. Its the perfect for children and parents to sit down together and interact with by saying the letters, or allow the child to name the letters they see, and words they spell on the show. If your looking to start your child in spelling and reading this is one you should allow them watch.

To be completely honest the only reason I looked this up was to make sure it existed. I honestly thought it Ming's have been a false memory or a fever dream. This show was insane. Not in a good way or in a bad way. I have hardly an opinion. The ducks were offensive because I come from the south and why are they made of letters all the animals who are sentient by the way are full of holes it is very disturbing. Do they feel pain these animals made of letters filled with holes forced to spend eternity spelling to make things appear we can tell by the baking that if you spell you can create anything there fore if some one would want to say start a nuclear war all they would have to do is find some letters and say N U K E the detonate it killing millions. All in all the show is very disturbing.
...and I'm 40 yrs old! I really like to watch with my nieces and nephew, because they're learning to read (2 have been learning and 1 isn't ready yet). From a learning perspective, it helps because the kids have been shown the spelling out and *creation* of a word, so when we're practicing their reading, I can get them to spell & sound out much easier when I remind them of that visual from Word World.
Aesthetically, I like the imagination in the creators. Every new word they build, I wonder what the final product will look like, and am always surprised. My fave has to be dog's HOUSE.... you ever notice that the open windows in the O sorta make the HOUSE into DOGHOUSE?
I also really like the song that Ant & Pig sing in the playground about how 2 friends can say "I like you" just by playing together in the playground.. so true, so simple! And since they can't use the seesaw well, and ant can't reach the swing, they build a slide.
I loved the vintage Electric Company, and this is one of the only shows I've seen that honors that phonics method of showing words being built (remember "sl....ide.... slide; bl....ind....blind; k... ind... kind")
While many kids' shows teach important values in their stories, or teach words, I love that WordWorld teaches within the context of their clever stories and songs. Well worth every kid and grownup watching, as well as its awards!

I found Word World by accident, and my grandson loves it! It's a great way for little ones to learn to sound out letters and form basic words. I also like how the words form the actual word (hat becomes a hat, etc.).
Bravo!
Bravo!
I wasn't a huge fan of this when I was in the target audience. I thought it was mildly funny but ultimately annoying. I only watched it if there was nothing else to watch and avoided watching it. Its stupid and the characters are annoying. The animation isn't very good and neither is the voice acting from what I can remember. Adults might like it (I say this reading other reviews), but most kids won't.
