I had to make an IMDb account just to vent.
This show is funded by the CBC, which means every sketch has to be run through a filter to make sure it's inoffensive to literally everyone. That alone kills comedy. You can't be funny if you're afraid to take risks.
But even if they were allowed to push boundaries, it wouldn't matter. None of them have comedic timing. Not one. They feel like people acting funny as opposed to actually being funny people.
I'm sure these boys are a good hang, but I genuinely have no idea how this show has won seven awards.
I've seen funnier TikToks made by 11-year-olds.

I've sincerely enjoyed three seasons of Tallboyz. It shifts well between joyful absurdity and thoughtful takes on pertinent issues. I especially find myself drawn to the genuine, and hilarious demeanour that Guled Abdi brings to his performances. Looking forward to following the career from all four core members of the cast.
These guys are genuinely funny, and their best skits are the ones where they just let their imaginations run wild. But so many of their skits just feel as if they were written by some downtown-Toronto white person (or white-adjacent person) obsessed with ticking boxes to demonstrate "wokeness." It gets to the point where you sit there, already cringing, just waiting for the diatribe about some intense social issue. I watch comedy to escape this kind of thing, not to be slammed with it over and over. And I'm an immigrant! Their perspective is just way too big-city-university-white-person-focused. They don't make any jokes for real immigrants. They never explore any of the successful immigrant communities. It's the most misleading and ridiculous portrayal of Canada. But it's a shame because these guys really are funny, and we really were lacking in diversity for comedy sketch shows, so I welcomed this when it came on. I think they should be brave and just rely on their humour, not ticking boxes.
I really enjoy the silly humour of this show. The Toronto mans' accent and various BIPOC perspectives are spot on without sacrificing the funny. It takes some scathing shots at race and politics but wraps it in absurd comedy and I love that. I'm pretty sure I've seen all the episodes and and the production value just kept getting better and the storylines funnier. Each Tallboy brings something hilarious to the table and I can't believe they haven't been tapped for more. Also, it's rare to see a show with only minorities as the leads. If you like dumb humour, sketch comedy, and inclusivity then Tallboyz is for you.
It's as if they made this show for a bunch of 12 year old boys!
I got to 13 seconds and I just couldn't watch it anymore. Ninja style cries that remind me of Jackie Chan. I mean I turned to my mom and I said "Okay, that's enough of that!"! I'd rather watch a new season of Schitt's Creek because that show's creators are funny.
My mom didn't like it either so what does that say about the writers of this show?
