The movie is split into different parts and shows young people at a house party among friends who share a mutual past. One girl is moonlighting as an Uber driver and who isn't part of the clique. The dynamics of hanging out, dating, "adulting", and trying to keep each other in the loop are the main nuances of the film. This movie is a good watch if you enjoy the type of easy going party flicks without any depth. The plot is interesting, but don't expect complex thought experiments or deep structures.
I was quite surprised to see the filming location being Austin, TX. Not sure how often that happens in my kodi watchlist and Austin is one of my all-time favorite places and it is great to see this town in a movie.

This could be described as the biopic of the millennial. The Get Together attempts to capture modernity without catering to sides any particular ideology. This is indisputably the future of cinema. It is without stardom, without the massive dollars of production houses, and without pandering. There's an honest wandering to the story as an uber driver, a failed musician, and a grad student try to justify their lives in the face of the dying American Dream, and changing norms about adulthood and marriage. Its only shortcoming is that it uses many untrained actors and yet that could also be its highest achievement. Any vague critiques of this film come from the critics inability to appreciate the simplicity of daily life and the cultural moment. 8/10 only because its scope is not large enough to accomplish 10 stars.
Omg, the 8/9/10 ratings are ridic shills, this indie film by inexperienced nobody producer/writer/director Will Bakke is a wasted effort, should've been released straight to TV via MTV or VH1 given its throw-away teen/YA emo-drama. This past Covid-tainted year has just been a dumping ground of pathetic, unworthy films and it hasn't stopped yet apparently. Just add this to the increasing pile of rubbish.

I was amazed the whole movie how stunning the shots were. Reminded me of other great movies. All of it was just stunning.
The acting and the cast was great. Didn't like the plot or the dialogue that much - so this is definitely not for everyone.
All in all a fun movie that was filmed/edited well.

It's pretty rare to find a movie like this one. It is light-hearted, has an intriguing story line and funny. It is also a clean movie, which is about impossible to find these days. There is a perfect amount of romance and drama. The humor is perfect for millennials. I think y'all could have capitalized more on the humor of the avg. Blogger girl.
