Good laugh trip. For some parts plots are missing. But I think this is one of one the best movie that portrays Filipino cultute and Filipinos themselves.
Always wanted to get in to filippino movies, but its hard to miss jokes when you don't speak tagalog so good. So this was a very refreshing insight into filippino culture and stereotypes, and very hilarious at times.
Highly recommend it if you are curious about filippino culture.

It does portray most Filipinos who were raised in the Americas.
It shows the culture of how we try to stick together and even think of being responsible of everyone in the family. It also shows how it can be toxic but also how being in a close knit family be fun.

Cringiest movie I've seen in a long time. And not in a quirky cheesy Filipino movie kinda way. Like so bad I want to throw my tsinelas at the TV bad. Everything try-hard corny from the bad acting (e.g. Dayo constantly OA "over acting"), horrendous soundtrack, sloppy directing (like dispose of the syringe that you didn't actually inject in the rooster, and that you were supposed to keep a secret but instead waived around in front of the nick c.), some scenes didn't even make any sense.
Pretty shots in the Philippines and Solenn are its only saving grace. Even though Solenn's accent clearly gives away the fact she didn't grow up in the States with Duke.
Really embarrassing movie to be honest.

This is a very well done and funny movie, well-written and directed. The opening scene is reminiscent of the nightclub scene in Goodfellas with a great tracking shot. Maybe not the definitive movie about Filipino American experience but very enjoyable and not on the least predictable story.
