Just watched this very funny movie and highly recommend if your Maltese or not... most people know at least one Maltese person in their lives and Julian and James have depicted their real life family members in a well written, entertaining and edited movie. I'm Maltese and found it wonderful to finally relate to characters on a big screen from my mother land. I thought the story line was clever and could imagine these two Maltese gents taking a real trip like the one in the movie. Even the cute dog in film was a star! Great to see Julian bring these characters to main stream and keep the Maltese culture in Australia alive. Thankyou Julian and James.
Fabulous, fun ... and you don't have to be Maltese to love it! So many classic family and sibling situations that are so funny and are so relatable across all cultures (even had my German husband laughing and nodding throughout).
It's heart-warming entertainment pure, with deep family messages and yes, there's a dog in it too.
The authenticity of the film is so apparent in so many little aspects - from the absolutely authentic Maltese characters and their accents to the old family photos from Malta, and also the interior decorating style of Jo's home.
This is definitely the best way to embrace your inner Maltese in a cinematic way. A good-feel movie with cultural depth and a big warm Maltese heart!
All that leaves to be said is that I'm now waiting for "Brothers from Malta 2: Roxie rules".

I took my mum and mother in law to see the movie. We laughed from start to finish. Loved all the Maltese references, especially 'The Maldives' reference. It's really nice to see movies being made for the Maltese community as this is rare. Hopefully the movie will be released in Melbourne again as I am sure the Maltese community in the west would support it. Would love for the producer to create a movie in Maltese next. Is there any chance of this happening? Would recommend to all 2nd generation Maltese.
Go and see the movie - you won't be disappointed. Thank you to Julian and the family, including Roxy.

I felt like I was watching my own family up there, it almost brought a tear to my eye.
Well done Julian for being able to show us the fundamental importance of the family unit, (even a dysfunctional one like Joe & Charlie) and then mix it in with some very light hearted rancour that played on the multicultural antics of Maltese people living in a Western country like Australia or the US.
A must watch movie for those who still appreciate a well thought out story and script and who dread having to watch another meaningless empty Hollywood Sci-fi superhero movie which seems to be in the majority these days.

What a great insight in the Maltese culture. The connections were bloody hilarious and really confirms the very distinct attributes of the Maltese. Two Brothers from Malta made me feel proud to be Maltese. We are who we are and to see in on the big screen was a comfort and a great laugh. The loudness, the abruptness and most important the good heart behind the yelling all makes sense. So, I keep telling my Spanish husband when he asked me to whisper, my reply ... I am Maltese, I can't whisper. I can't wait to see another Maltese movie, we are a special unique breed and I enjoyed celebrating that while watching Two Brothers from Malta.
