      This game is lame...................

Unlike any other RE, this game is lame, you don't need any skill or any brain at all to play this game. You don't have to make absolutely no decision where to go or what to do, unlike RE4 where you can choose which path to take or plan some sort of strategy in order to defeat the enemy, this game is nothing but a lame shooting version of an arcade game from the '80s, the only thing you have to do here is aim and shoot. You want to go left, sorry you can't. You want to go back for that rifle you couldn't get, sorry you can't. If you have no brain or if you don't like to make your own decisions this game is perfect for ya, otherwise is just a big disappointment. The graphics in REUC is one huge step behind RE4 really awful game. The only good thing about this game is that I rented it before decided to buy it and I won't buy it, that's for sure!, RE4 way better game.

A dull asset flip that provides little in the way of lore.

Umbrella Chronicles is nothing more than a fan service asset flip that does little to add anything to the lore. Unless you count a scenario where you go to Russia and fight a painfully generic boss as adding to the lore. The overall package is dull and boring and brings nothing to the table.

Amazing Game, If You Know What You're Buying

This game was never meant to be one of the main games in the series. However, it does have a lot of information pertaining to it, and as such fans should buy it. The game is done as an on-rails shooter, it may not seem appealing at first, but this game is the first Resident Evil game thats pick-up and play. The story inside the game is contradictory to the true events of the series, but in the extra notes you find, it explains things clearly. Sure, the game is only a shooter, but it succeeds at what it is, and was never advertised to be something more.

This game to play is much more fun than Resident Evil 4, and with the files collected in it, tell a much better, more solid story than Resident Evil 4, though neither games involve much thought to play. If you're a Resident Evil fan, and like the classics, buy it, you won't be sorry, but if you're simply one from the masses of Resident Evil 4 players, who think they know something about the series, don't buy it.

      Piece of garbage

This game is one of the worst I've ever played in my life. Anybody who says resident evil 6 is the worst resident evil game ever has clearly never played this piece of garbage. Takes away you free will to actually look around and collect items. All you can do is shoot, try to pick up items while your camera view is being thrown in another direction, then you usually die!!! Worst resident evil game ever!!!!

A step. Not necessarily in the right direction, but a step nonetheless

This is a new sort of incarnation for the series in many ways. It eliminates the survival-horror and replaces it with running and gunning. Not that this is a bad thing - I quite enjoyed the change of pace from "how do I combine these things?", "what does this thing even do?" and "Oh, God, I forgot to use this back there, now I have to backtrack" to the much less frustrating "shoot, kill, throw grenade, listen to one-liner, shoot some more". There is no new story to absorb, just a refurbished stroll through the Resident Evil time-line, which makes storytelling as simple as replaying key events from throughout the series. It isn't groundbreaking or revolutionary in any way, just another installment in the franchise. However, I liked the added behind-the-scenes levels which told a bit more about the shady Umbrella Corporation and the backstories of certain characters, and the linearity helps to explain the sequence of events more. There isn't much about this game I can hold to fault, just don't buy it expecting any new story lines. All in all, it is a solid rail shooter without any serious defects save for the fact that Albert Wesker's cretinous voice seems to want to narrate the entire game.

      • Trivia
The game (especially the 'Umbrella's End' level) incorporates several elements from the first Resident Evil (2002) movie, such as: the Red Queen computer, an attack on a high-speed train wagon inside the Umbrella complex, the protagonists getting trapped in a room with lasers, etc.
      • Goofs
In-game files as well as Resident Evil related material state that the Tyrant T-103 was created after Umbrella recovered the research data from the original fight against the Tyrant in Resident Evil. Among the Tyrant T-103 specimens is IVAN, Sergei's bodyguard. The problem is that IVAN appears and fights Wesker in-between the events of Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil which was about one day earlier than Jill or Chris fought the original Tyrant meaning IVAN would not be created for about two months as the necessary data to do so had not yet been collected.

[Ada Wong arrives at the Apple Inn, only to find her contact already dead]

Albert Wesker: [communicating from a webcam] He lost his will and chose death. He was weak.

        Ada Wong: Wesker...

Albert Wesker: And you Ada... you have also failed. Your actions in betraying us and helping that Leon fellow will have consequences for our organization.

Ada Wong: [puts the G-virus sample on the table] See this? It's a tissue fragment with Birkin's G-virus.

Albert Wesker: Well, despite some setbacks, you have proven your value to us. Ada, there are two things you must be made aware of. One. In just moments, Raccoon City will be completely eradicated by a government launched missile. And Two. An Umbrella officer will be leaving town on a helicopter. If you are not on it, there will be no way to leave Raccoon City.

[types in a command to open a briefcase next to the dead contact, revealing a hookshot]

Albert Wesker: It is in our best interest that you survive. The G-virus sample is required.

        [cuts the transmission]

Ada Wong: [thinking as she holds the G-virus sample] If the T-virus did this. What would happen if the G-virus got out?

      • Crazy credits
Just before the credits roll, the news on the radio is about everyone involved in Umbrella being plead guilty of all the events that led up to the end of this game. During the credits, it shows the snow fall in Russia. After the credits, Wesker sits down in the map/satellite chamber where Resident Evil 4 is ready to take place.
