Puritan: All of Life to The Glory of God

This is the best documentary on Puritans and the history of puritan faith, love it, magnificent, get it, watch it, learn, it's a blessing to know and understand the faith of our Christian forefathers.

This is a great documentary on the Puritans, a group of faithful church Reformers largely misunderstood in the general consensus to be a bunch of legalistic killjoys. The history of the rise and subsequent waning of the movement is well presented, and the quality of the production is excellent. If you're interested in this slice of church history, this documentary is a good place to start.

Everything about this production is first-class, top-shelf, the very best!

This movie sets out with a clear focus, to introduce the Puritans and their teachings over the course of just under two hours. This is done in one way, through the use of wonderful cinematography and various shots taken at important historical locations throughout the globe. Another way is the use of contemporary preachers, theologians, and believers commenting upon the various themes of Puritanism - and how those themes are applicable to the Christian life today. A third way this is done is through the use of an artistic style that is unique and wonderful to look at. The various depictions of historical figures and events from King Henry to the Mayflower; the marks of Puritanism to waxing and waning of Puritanism throughout history - are illustrated in ways that capture the attention of the viewer.

Clearly everyone involved in this film (and the accompanying products) cared very much about it's release and it shows. I hope we get to see more in-depth treatment of these Puritans in the future!
