Three Women attempts to tackle feminist themes, but often falls into the trap of caricatured characters and exaggerated storytelling. The portrayal of both female and male characters feels fake and one-dimensional, detracting from the potential depth of the narrative.
The show seems to rely heavily on stereotypes rather than exploring the complexities of its characters' lives. For instance, the women are often portrayed as either hyper-emotional or overly empowered, lacking the nuanced development that would make their journeys relatable. This reductionist approach not only undermines the feminist message but also risks alienating viewers who seek authenticity in character arcs.
Moreover, the dialogue often feels forced, as if the writers are trying too hard to deliver 'witty' or 'provocative' lines that ultimately fall flat. Instead of sparking meaningful conversations, it often leads to eye-rolls and groans.
The pacing also suffers; moments that could have been poignant are rushed, while others drag on unnecessarily. This inconsistency disrupts the flow of the story and makes it difficult to invest in the characters' struggles.
Overall, while "Three Women" aims to be a bold exploration of contemporary femininity, it can come off as cringeworthy rather than thought-provoking. The show misses an opportunity to engage in a deeper dialogue about women's experiences, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment rather than empowerment.

What could you possibly write about this series besides wetness, screaming, moaning, hurting and "distasteful" peak sensations of the senses and faces. It is too weird slow with super uninteresting conversations and happenings, with good acting though, but failing to really grab viewers' attention.
You make a series, you want it impactful, enjoyable by both genders, so with that story, make it at least a sixteen episode one that slowly but surly unfolds with a real ending.

... how can you not watch this show... Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin.. either would be enough, but both of them... GLOW had me falling in love with Betty Gilpin, and it probably is not one of her best known appearances, but Endings, Beginnings was all pure alluring Shailene
... way too early to say much about how good or not Three Women will be, but I'd not be saying much against these two... Showtime had the series and decided not to proceed with it, handing it over to Starz... thanks for that
... slated for ten episodes, so there's going to be time to get deeper into character development.. really looking forward to seeing what this production will be offering
... 01.22.24 - near one out of six raters (still very small sample have voted so far) give it a '1'... that's scorn for reasons other than the quality of the work... this is a very-good-production, builds story-line-character-development throughout... acting's-outrageously-solid... will for sure be watched again & again... a-solid-'9'

A series about women, for women, and which I understand is supposed to have some kind of feminist perspective. How could they have missed something as basic as the fact that none of the many long sex scenes contain anything other than penetration? The men in the series act like teenagers in the bed.
Complete absence of caresses, hands and tongue. Are the creators familiar with something called the clitoris?
Otherwise, its an ok show but nothing rememberable. It feels slow and i find the storyline about the writer booring. Linas character and storyline is the only one which feels more interesting.

Interesting - slow at the beginning - favourite character is Lina.followed by Sloane - Gia is just all over the place , Maggie is young and foolish and trying to regain her self respect. The male characters in this seem very much secondary at least it would seem so at the beginning , but okay a very real role moving forward. If you can get over the first few or so episodes you will invest in the rest of the show.. this is. It something I would usually watch, but it intrigued me from what others were saying and talking about. In parts it's quite raw, emotional, sexual, bouncing from hot to cold.

- TriviaIt is speculated that the reason behind Showtime's decision to drop airing the series was concerns regarding its graphic sexual content, as the network was going through a content re-evaluation by its parent company Paramount at the time. In February 2023, Starz bought the rights to the series from Showtime and ended up airing the show on September 2024.
