Very well made and well acted

Labour MP Chris Tomlinson has ambitions to climb the political ladder, eyeing up a place in the cabinet, but he seems to have become somewhat disillusioned with politics, even the powers that be think he's lost interest.

I've seen bits and bobs from the series, I had no idea there was a pilot episode, it's a good debut, a good story and nicely acted.

I thought it was part of ITV's Playhouse series, but I may be wrong.

That introduction could easily have applied to the state of The UK right now, it paints a picture of a country in a mess, fast forward half a century and nothing has changed.

One scene made me chuckle, Chris is asking if he's sending his kids to state schools, in line with his socialist beliefs, look how many have sent their kids to public school, the hypocrisy.

It's we acted, Tony Britton, Wilfred Pickles and Ann Firbank are all very good.

    8/10.
