The story is engaging and exactly adequate to make a good commercial thriller movie . But the screenplay is poor that spoils the whole potential of the story . the scenes seems immature and overacting is jarring at some points . the inexperience of the director is very evident at some cases where strong emotions needs to be conveyed which converts it to a no feeling whatsoever scene. the acting of the lead actors are good ( a plus for the movie infact) but the acting of the supporting roles spoils the play. the music is very good and tries to elevate the scenes which are supressed by flaws of the poor screenplay and dialogues. Dialogues which is the most important thing for a court movie is not powerful enough to convey the intensity of the scene. the last half an hour is engaging but it is does not worth the time you wasted seeing amateur scenes with no grip or emotion . so this is a no for me . ( plus the idea of jyothika playing both the character of the advocate and the victim is bad and did not work at all) thank you PEACE!!
Very average story for a thriller or a drama. Casting was like a list of invitees for a wedding. Trying to follow the formula of Manithan, the courthouse scenes were atrocious! Very artificial and seeing Jyothika and Parthiepan conversing in the courthouse - honest feeling was tamil tv serials felt better sometimes. Only positive is the message about kid safety awareness.
The plot starts after 10 minutes with the father (Bhagyaraj) re-opening a 15-years old case seeking justice for a psychopath women killer. The first half, was usual with Jyotika producing evidence and the other party proving the evidences void. The second half, is where the subject matter of the movie is revealed. The last part of the movie though emotional and cinematic, defies logic. I particularly liked the judge character and the short cameo with his assistant. Though there are cliche scenes likes public opinion, credit should be given to the director for getting to the point straight forward and not using male bashing, victimization routine seen in other women-centric movies!!
Comes across clearly as a tip of the hat to raising awareness to the rape, sex trafficking and child molestation epidemic in the world and India.
But does not quite make it as great cinema that one would pay for to go to the theatre more like a TV serial docudrama that is over dramatized.
Compare with Kamal's awesome Papanasam and you will feel the difference between good cinema and a good TV docudrama
But .... worth a look and gets the job done, though it lacks the chokehold of a gripping genre thriller

Movie turned down to be a good one with superb first half and decent second half the treatment to the screenplay could have been better the court room drama could have been better because the main pulse is missing
