A contemporary investigator travels back in time to try to solve the enigma of the Iron Mask, a mysterious prisoner who died in the Bastille on November 19, 1703. He first lands at the Bastille in 1703 where he interviews Saint-Mars, its governor and then to Pignerol, where the Iron Mask was first imprisoned. The time traveler then finds himself at Voltaire's, who submits to his friends Grimm and Madame Campan the famous hypothesis of Louis XIV's twin brother. A new leap in time brings the viewer face to face with the Marie Antoinette-Louis XVI couple. Finally, the mystery still remains.
