“Suruli” (Dhanush) is a reckless, gangster from Madurai who happens to get recruited by a London-based politically-affluent gang leader ‘Peter’ (James Cosmo) and his men to understand and break into the illegal underworld operations of the ‘Sivadoss’ (Joseph 'Joju' George) and his gang which is rising in power, taking control of the illegal weapons and gold business of London. The fundamental theme of “Suruli” is about a fight for what you can truly call home seen from the perspectives of three different characters.

Lost hope...

What were you thinking? Lost hope in Tamil cinema, the script writers and actors all in one movie...had great expectations, but yet another formulaic movie. Going back to watching good Malayalam movies with solid scripts...

Good start but bad finish.

Jagame thandhiram half engaging entertainer .

Dhanush acting was superbb.

Both vilans characters are not good write.

Sana Music was good hero and vilan bgms rocking. Movie was good start but bad end .

First half was good but second was worst.

This not look like Karthik suburaj film.

Refuge's scenes are boring .And movie too long.

Only watching dhanush .Final verdict is "AVERAGE".

Expectations were shattered

The story did not grasp the attention of the viewers, predictable scenes made the movie not interesting, sequence taken abroad are illogical....

Underwhelming

Is Karthik subbaraj too over hyped? I realised after petta second half when the story beautifully built went down the drain. Again the same thing with jagame, only glimpses in the first half and second half totally gone down the drag. He does not know how to continue the premise and finish. Karthik you are really over hyped and j will stop expecting your movies to be good anymore.

Dhanush and Aishwarya are the only saving grace. Liked cosmos.
