Praise is given to the cinematography, production design, and initial gripping episodes. However, the storyline is criticized for being predictable and shallow. Acting performances are seen as inconsistent, with some efforts appreciated and others deemed lackluster. Special effects and zombie makeup are often faulted for being subpar. First episode was great, plausible plot, interesting characters, great cinematogrophy.
2nd Episode did pretty well, great horror scenes, fast paced, not knowing what the next minute will reveal.
3rd Episode was lazy, Soldiers being stuck in a building & doing nothing but wait, with no real plan. let alone plan B or C. The actions of the soldiers made no sense, 90% of action is you watching rifles being fired. Nothing else.
4th Episode was disasterous. No surprises, nothing interesting happens. Actors just look lazy and not interested in trying, again no real plan. the final "plan" on how to end all this was a "chutiyan" plan, in one of the soldiers' own word.
Cinematography was pretty good for the indian standard. Acting was bad. Even Viineet Kumar, (whom I personally admire , he is a fantastic actor) was just clueless 80% of the show.
Hope there is no more seasons, or at least not with the same writer & director. Disappointed.

I found the Story line of Betaal very refreshing & new. The Indian version of Zombie Army is done quite well. I just felt that the Emotional Scenes of the Characters could have been much better developed. It sometimes gave the impression of the scene dragging.
The ending left us with Season 2 that should come

It's entertaining and quite thrilling . Definitely could have been better. 1st half is much better and thrilling. Ignore some of the critics. We're they expecting a zombie show to be realistic? Some of the critics are dumb,
As said, it's not that great but it's worth the watch and a good attempt and just for that I do recommend

Betaal is a story set in an Indian village which is occupied by tribal people. There's a tunnel in the village which according to the villagers should never be opened as there is a presence of a strong force in it.
The 4 part series was surprisingly good throughout with a few terrifying scenes. The tale is gripping , fast-moving but kind of predictable at times. Overall the first season was a great start for the upcoming seasons, especially the last scene was completely unpredictable.
I will be eagerly waiting for the upcoming seasons , and hope the series improves by every season!!
Great Indian Content!
Betaal is a spooky treat to watch. Unique concept, good acting and direction having forgettable dialogues but backed by concrete storyline.
The show loses its grip for a while in third episode but apart from that it will keep you on your toes for sure. A definite watch for the fans of horror genre.
P.S. Army of dead could have been more scarier!😅
