Right, well I have to say that I didn't harbor any grand expectations when I sat down to watch the 2019 movie "Bloodsuckers Planet" here in 2025. In fact, I had neve even heard about the movie prior to watching it.
Writer and director Mark Beal put together a fair enough script for the movie, though it wasn't anything extraordinary. But it wasn't all that bad, for a movie of this budget.
The acting performances in the movie were fair. Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie.
The effects in the movie were not great. Points for the effort, because it definitely was made with a love of the old sci-fi movies, but it certainly wasn't top notch special effects.
I am sure that diehard sci-fi fans will find some enjoyment in this 2019 movie, especially if you enjoy the sci-fi movies of the 1950s and 1960s.
There was a lot of ambition to the movie, but unfortunately the budget sort of served as an anchor, holding the movie back.
My rating of "Bloodsucker's Planet" lands on a four out of ten stars.

I am a big Sci-Fi fan and this is quite a little gem. The acting, casting, script, music (title song too) sets, direction and effects were all very good, and certainly carried the story both to the level of making it believable, as well as fun and retro at the same time. Definitely beyond the "student film" level. I really enjoyed it. Some of the "references" to the 60's were very clever...after all, this takes place in the '60s. Another note on the casting, it was very well done, all the characters were well cast and portrayed. The combination of Sci-Fi with horror (vampires) really worked and there were some scenes that were genuinely creepy! Watched it twice and will probably watch it more!
I've always been a huge science fiction fan and I just stumbled across this little flick from last year. No idea what to expect. Maybe just another boring space slasher? But Bloodsucker's Planet is really entertaining. Seems to be a tribute to shlocky sci-fi films from the 1960s. Definitely much better than your typical low budget fare. There is a lot of creativity that went into this little gem. Some of the special effects are pretty cool. I liked the characters. Very light-hearted and trippy production. It's fun!
I usually avoid recent movies that try to emulate classic 50's and '60's scifi, but I was intrigued by the two glowing reviews and the low overall score and gave it a shot. For me, the film immediately called to mind John Carpenter's directorial debut Dark Star with its low budget special effects. Still, this film told a story and held my interest to the end. Since this is a prequel, I plan to watch the first movie now.
Favorite cast member was Jessica Bell with an appropriately understated performance as the female robot Adrianna. I was surprised to see she has been in three movies and hope to see more of her in future.
