It looks like it was shot on a cheap handycam with no lighting talent whatsoever. The monster looked terrible too. The music was good and dialogue clear but otherwise totally uninspiring. Horrible acting and horrible direction. Misty Mundae was a happy bonus. What happened to Lance Henriksen? Not in the slightest bit scary or even interesting.
Buenos Aires.A horny monster is raping hookers to death with his huge penis tearing their uteruses.A beast called the 'Kurupi' is desperately trying to find a suitable baby-maker in order to sustain its species. It's time for tough cop Sean Fallon to stop the creature...The premise of "Dying God" sounds spectacularly sleazy, unfortunately most of the rapes and violence takes place off-screen.Even the amount of nudity is minimal.Lance Henriksen and Misty Mundae are both wasted in this boring piece of garbage.Adimittedly the climatic battle between Fallon and the beast is hilarious and quite gory.Watch Japanese outrageous "Guts of a Virgin" instead-similar premise, awesome result.3 out of 10.
If you started off with the premise that you could make one of the worst films ever whilst talking to a group of ten year old school kids, and then wrote a script together with them that contained no original dialogue, a plot that was predictable in every way possible and then cast a bunch of incompetent actors (Even Henriksen is bad in this one!), mix it together with an absurd blend of clichés and some bare breasts, then this is what you would probably end up with.
Some films are so bad that they're good fun. The trash aesthetic and all that, but this one is just trash. Rubbish. Truly and utterly awful.
The only thing that kept me watching was the vague hope that it couldn't get any worse. But at least it didn't disappoint in that respect.
The score was good. And there you have the one and only redeeming factor for this execrably bad, fetid piece of tripe.
Cheers, Will

The monster idea was the best part of the film and what made it watchable.
The film has an interesting idea, but that's pretty much where it ends. The acting and oddity of listening to to a mix of English and French accented English in a South American industrial city is a bit too much. Sort of like watching it filmed in a French Canadian province for a story that's supposed to take place in Brazil. The lack of fit gave it that b-movie/TV quality despite a good soundtrack and believable FX.
The director and caster get responsibility for it. The stereotypical dirty cop, hookers, relationships, cigarettes, and drugs just didn't fit. It all seemed forced. Too many easy fixes that irritated me and took my focus away from the story.

First you must know that i love "Z-grade movies" "thrash cinema" "crap movies" and "no budget". I like movies like Violent Sh#t, Cannibal Capout, Zombie Bloosbath, Sadomaster, Ozone...you know, bottom of the barrel shot on video stuff....
Dying God is in the same category of those films. Its cheap, its looks bad, its very bad acted, the editing sucks. The problem is that this movie is very boring. Dying God tries too hard to be "serious" or something like that (the "comedy" moments are really unfunny ones). The movie is about a cop that investigates a series of killings. Its insane to talk about "plot" here. Not enough gore and skin here to save this mess. Misty Mundae is dressed all the movie, so imagine. Lance Henriksen denigrates himself by making a cameo here. 2/10

- GoofsWhen Sean Fallon returns from the hospital to his apartment and checks his messages, there is one message from "Mary" stating that she cleaned his apartment. This voice is not the same actress who was Mary earlier, which was Misty Mundae (Erin Brown). The voice in this message has a very strong accent and is not Misty's American voice.
