Where Doug Walker sank with the Nostalgia Critic, Lindsey Ellis soared out of her role as Nostalgia Chick and into her own as YouTube's best critic. She combines sarcastic wit and intelligent critique seamlessly without relying on gimmicks or spontaneous skits. Her video essays are layered, patient, and explore deeper and more mature themes.

The story of the Nostalgia Critic is a tragic farce, but the story of Lindsey Ellis is a uplifting dramedy.
