The 28th Annual Tony Awards

Among the actors in attendance were no fewer than four who would be linked to the Sherlock Holmes character--George C. Scott who had played a psychiatric hospital inpatient believing himself to be Holmes in Le rivage oublié (1971), Nicol Williamson who would play Holmes in Sherlock Holmes attaque l'Orient-Express (1976), Christopher Plummer who would play Holmes in Meurtre par décret (1979), and both Peter Cook and Dudley Moore who would spoof Holmes and Dr. Watson in Le chien des Baskervilles (1978).
