Despite many delays, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man lived up to the long wait. Although this version of Spider-Man is younger than nearly every other iteration to date, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man feels like the most mature of any Spider-Man series. Peter Parker reacts like a high school kid, but his stories aren’t weighed down by heavy teen melodrama.
The first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man featured incredible fight scenes despite not having the best animation, thanks to excellent cinematography and bright, solid colors that pop. Several characters, such as Tombstone and Norman Osborn, received some of their best on-screen adaptations, and plenty of great material is teased for the next season.

A guest spot on a television sitcom, especially one as insanely popular as "The Big Bang Theory," is basically television law. There's no legally binding mandate, per se, but it would get pretty monotonous if every week followed our series leads with absolutely no one else showing up for a laugh or surprise jolt from the live studio audience. Given the show's primary focus on "geek culture," or rather a heavily commercialized version of such, it makes sense that nerdom heavy hitters like James Earl Jones, Mark Hamill, and Adam West would make an appearance throughout its 12-season run. But then you can't sustain a roster of guest spots without expanding your star power horizons.
The series' 11th and penultimate season saw folks like Kathy Bates, Peter MacNicol, and Jerry O'Connell pop in for a quick hello, but you may be surprised to learn that "Fallout" star Walton Goggins and his beautiful scruff did too.

A third season of Bookie is too rich for Max’s blood: The streaming service has cancelled the Chuck Lorre sitcom starring stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, TVLine has confirmed. (Our sister site Variety first reported the news.)
“For two seasons creators Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay and their hilarious cast, led by Sebastian Maniscalco, made us laugh while pulling back the curtain on the world of sports betting,” a Max spokesperson said in a statement. “We won’t be moving forward with a third season, but we are grateful to have worked with such a brilliant team on this laugh out loud comedy.

He smokes a cigarette annoyingly near other passengers. When one asks if he can move away from them, it nearly turns into a physical fight. Arriving at a stunningly picturesque Thai wellness resort, he curtly refuses the welcome gift of a phuang malai. When he stops seething long enough to address his cheerful young girlfriend, it’s to order her to stop talking, or to cut off her questions by telling her she’s “like a fucking machine gun.” Rick Hackett, in the third season of The White Lotus, is definitely a jerk. But it’s almost impossible to dislike him, because he is played by Walton Goggins.

Prime Video has yet to announce Fallout Season 2 release date, but there's good news ahead for fans of the series. Walton Goggins offered a glimpse of The Ghoul to confirm they've started filming.
Fallout fans are raving over Walton Goggin's Instagram post, which teased him getting comfortable under The Ghoul's skin. The photo also confirmed it won't be long before Season 2 premieres. "Back in the saddle… #Deux. Gatdamn it feels good to slip on this skin. I do this shit for the love of the Game," Goggins wrote. He previously lamented the hours he spent on the makeup chair for the transformation, which involved nine pieces of thin silicone layered on his face, followed by finishing touches that fleshed out The Ghoul's irradiated, subhuman skin. The makeup team spent nine months perfecting the process, which reduced Goggin's five-hour ordeal to one hour and 45 minutes.

“Elizabethtown. ““Dean.” “August: Osage County.” All somewhat recent cinematic efforts of the past several decades revolving around a person or two dealing with the passing of a family member, more often than not, accompanied by a return to their childhood home or small town that will itself become far more inevitably meaningful by film’s end. Directed by renaissance man Robert Schwartzman, having helmed such efforts as “Dreamland,” “The Unicorn,” and “The Argument” in addition to fronting indie group Rooney and appearing onscreen as the dreamboat love interest in “The Princess Diaries,” there’s a smattering of ambition present throughout his latest project “The Good Half, “one that can easily find itself in line with the contemporaries above but can’t help but repeatedly trip over its storytelling shoelaces in the process.

Fire Country is coming to Netflix. Season 1 of CBS’ popular drama will be available on Netflix in the US beginning August 1 in a deal made by series producer CBS Studios. This is an additional domestic streaming window for Fire Country, co-created and starring Max Thieriot, whose first two seasons are on Paramount+. It is designed to give the show additional exposure ahead of its Oct. 18 Season 3 premiere on CBS.
Paramount Global has been the most open to content windowing among the vertically integrated traditional media companies, with CBS Studios at the forefront of that, opening non-exclusive streaming windows for some of its current series on Netflix in the US after selling the shows internationally.
In a similar move, the studio in September 2020 licensed the first seasons of its CBS series Evil and The Unicorn to Netflix in advance of the shows’ second seasons on CBS that had been delayed by the pandemic.

Closer in tone to the sharp adult series “BoJack Horseman” than to Illumination’s bland “Sing” franchise, Netflix’s “Thelma the Unicorn” avoids being rendered completely unoriginal by its overly familiar premise thanks to consistent splashes of acid humor and a plethora of wacky supporting characters. Reimagined from the popular 2015 children’s book by Aaron Blabey, this bright-colored fable concerns a female pony chasing musical stardom disguised as a horned magical creature. But by changing her identity to chase those ambitions, Thelma betrays herself and those who truly know her.

Netflix's empire of animated films is expanding with Thelma the Unicorn - a new family film all about accepting yourself and believing in who you are. Based on the beloved children's books of the same name, the film stars a young pony named Thelma (Brittany Howard), who has big dreams and aspirations of becoming a music star. However, her self-consciousness about her personal appearance prevents her from having the confidence to follow her dreams.

Jared and Jenusha Hess made a name for themselves with the quirky comedy Napoleon Dynamite but recently earned status as Academy Award nominees for their animated short Ninety-Five Senses. Thus, hopes were certainly high for their next project, the Netflix animated feature Thelma the Unicorn. Those hopes are misguided.

Will Forte is absolutely hilarious in his latest animated outing. The SNL alum voices Otis the donkey, a Rusty Buckets bandmate and best friend to the title character of Thelma the Unicorn (played by Brittany Howard). The Alabama Shakes lead singer stars as a rocking farm pony who covers herself in pink paint, glitter, and a glued-to-the-cranium carrot on a quest for musical stardom. The film brilliantly skewers social media's fake personalities and the absurdity of viral culture. It teaches children the valuable lesson of always being true to yourself, all with a toe-tapping soundtrack.
Forte came to work on the film after being approached by co-director Jared Hess and his wife Jerusha, who he'd known for "years and years" and considers "amazing writers." He says he has a "mediocre voice," but we'd disagree. You can watch our above interview with the fantastic Will Forte,...

Justified stars Walton Goggins and Timothy Olyphant didn't always gel very well together during the production of the TV series. Fortunately, all of that is now just water under the bridge.
In a new interview, via The Independent, Goggins commented on his relationship with Olyphant. He had previously spoken about how his friendship with Olyphant had become strained as the show went along, and Goggins reaffirmed as much, recalling that things were tough close to the end. Thelma the Unicorn, an animated musical on Netflix, offers a whimsical universe and universal themes of self-acceptance for all ages. Directors Hess and Wang aim to subvert the unicorn trope in the film while preserving the heartwarming friendship between Thelma and Otis. Award-winning composer John Powell's score enhances the emotional journey of Thelma, bringing her character to life in this magical tale.

In a “Fallout” premiere packed with surprises, the Ghoul’s introduction is a nasty little treat. It’s a dark, blustery evening. Three men go grave-digging, but rather than robbing the dead, they’ve come with an offer. A rich bounty is up for grabs, and they need a little help to procure it. Honcho, the group’s leader, thinks he knows just the man for the job: a bounty hunter Honcho’s father used to work with, who’s been buried alive for years, maybe decades, at this very cemetery.
Things do not go according to plan for ol’ Honcho, but the scene executes its own ends with rousing style: It quickly establishes Walton Goggins’ Ghoul as a force to be reckoned with, while providing a delightful bonus for “Justified” fans: Goggins and Mykelti Williamson, together again.

When you first see The Ghoul in “Fallout,” the most pronounced feature of Walton Goggins’ character is what’s missing. Just under the brim of his weathered cowboy hat and just above his wrinkled upper lip — you know, where his nose should be — there isn’t one. You can see the narrow nostril-dividing tissue, but there are no nostrils to divide. Instead, there’s just an A-shaped hole in his face. A cavity. An absence. So even though it’s obvious the handsome charmer from “Justified” is there, buried under a pound of latex, Prime Video viewers may not realize the physical demands of a role visibly defined by what’s been removed.
“I can’t see so well. I mean, I could see, but your periphery is gone,” Goggins said in an interview with IndieWire. “I’ve got these things over my teeth, so it’s hard to talk.

Hollywood writers have some notes after Mattel revealed its Barbie Women in Film toy line for the annual “Career of the Year” collection.
Following the widespread popularity of Greta Gerwig’s Warner Bros. summer release Barbie, which topped a billion dollars at the global box office, Mattel announced this week that it will release Barbie dolls in four film-related career paths: studio executive, director, cinematographer and movie star.
Not included in the line is a doll representing screenwriters, which is particularly notable following the recent Writers Guild of America strike that saw scribes pounding the pavement to remind the industry of their importance in the filmmaking process. A number of Hollywood writers took to social media to point out that the pivotal career path is not a Barbie option.

With every new fresh hell unleashed upon the world, it feels like each day we're inching closer and closer to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the "Fallout" games. Technology continues to advance, but 1950s-esque ways of thinking are gaining popularity. Well, at least we can look forward to atompunk/retrofuturistic aesthetics and the ability to befriend robots. Prime Video has been working on a series adaptation of the mega-popular game series for quite some time now, revealing their first look all the way back in October of 2022. Due out in 2024, the "Fallout" series boasts an impressive cast, including "Yellowjackets" star Ella Purnell as Lucy, David Lynch Dreamboat Kyle MacLachlan as Hank, and everyone's favorite character actor, Walton Goggins as The Ghoul.
Mutated, noseless beings known as Ghouls are common in the "Fallout" games, and are among the first groups of survivors who attempted to rebuild civilization. Some emerged as a result of the Great War,...

The following contains spoilers for Justified: City Primeval Episode 8, "The Question," which debuted Tuesday, Aug. 29 on FX.
When Walton Goggins returned in Justified: City Primeval, audiences were overjoyed. Goggins has become closely associated with the role of Kentucky bad guy Boyd Crowder, chewing the scenery and keeping viewers on their toes. In general, the actor is known for playing very tough characters. But he went completely against type in the CBS sitcom The Unicorn -- and breathed new life into TV's most tired genre. There were even some connections to Boyd along the way.
Coming four years past the end of Justified and just after Goggins' star turn in the military thriller Deep State, The Unicorn was a surprising choice for the actor. To put him in a traditional network half-hour sitcom seemed to be the antithesis of his vibrant, unpredictable characters. Yet the series created by Bill Martin, Mike Schiff...

Exclusive: Fresh off the series finale of CBS’ True Lies, Omar Miller has entered production in Italy on Naples to New York, an indie based on a story penned in the 1940s by a young Federico Fellini, who was not yet a filmmaker, and his longtime friend and collaborator Tullio Pinelli.
Set in 1949, this is a story of two children who set off on a journey across the ocean, as stowaways on a ship, looking for a family and opportunity in America. Along the way, they encounter characters both well-meaning and nefarious, who cement their faith in humanity. Miller plays George, an American cook on an international merchant ship who befriends our two young Italian stowaways. He’s a gentle giant with great comedic timing, and a strong sense of humanity.
Gabriele Salvatores is directing from his own script, with Paco Cinematografica, Isabella Cocuzza and Arturo Paglia serving as exec producers.

You Hurt My Feelings is one of those delightful films in which you could honestly envision a whole movie about each character, and would want to watch it. Even tangential characters, like the couple who want a refund for years of unsuccessful therapy (a hilarious David Cross and Amber Tambyln) are interesting and fun enough, in their own way. But it's the main four characters of Nicole Holofcener's new instant classic that obviously stand out the most here. They're delightful company in one of the best films of the year.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays Beth, a writer whose new literary efforts are frequently rejected by her publisher. Her husband, Don (Tobias Menzies), is a therapist who is beginning to doubt that he's actually effective or good at his job. Beth's sister, Sarah (Michaela Watkins) is an interior designer for the frequently indecisive and picky upper echelon clientele of New York.

During the 2020 pandemic, streaming services became the new gold rush. As nearly every entertainment company raced to set up their own version of Netflix, millions of dollars were thrown at new movies and shows, along with discounts and marketing gimmicks.
