Exclusive: Momentum on the next installment in the Meet the Parents franchise is building as sources tell Deadline that John Hamburg is set to direct the fourth film in the Universal series. As Deadline first reported, the original cast that includes Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are returning to star, with Hamburg, who had co-written the three other Meet the Parents movies, penning this script as well.

A guest spot on a television sitcom, especially one as insanely popular as "The Big Bang Theory," is basically television law. There's no legally binding mandate, per se, but it would get pretty monotonous if every week followed our series leads with absolutely no one else showing up for a laugh or surprise jolt from the live studio audience. A third season of Bookie is too rich for Max’s blood: The streaming service has cancelled the Chuck Lorre sitcom starring stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, TVLine has confirmed. (Our sister site Variety first reported the news.)

“For two seasons creators Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay and their hilarious cast, led by Sebastian Maniscalco, made us laugh while pulling back the curtain on the world of sports betting,” a Max spokesperson said in a statement. “We won’t be moving forward with a third season, but we are grateful to have worked with such a brilliant team on this laugh out loud comedy.

“Dune: Part Two” led all films in nominations for the 233 annual Ves Awards, the Visual Effects Society announced on Tuesday. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic received seven nominations in the Ves Awards’ eight non-animated feature film categories, followed by “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” with six, “Better Man” with four and “Mufasa: The Lion King” with three.

In the Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature category, the category that corresponds most closely to Best Visual Effects at the Oscars, the nominees were “Better Man,” “Dune: Part Two,” “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” “Mufasa: The Lion King” and “Twisters.”

Plot details are being kept inside the circle of trust. John Hamburg — who co-wrote all three prior films in the franchise, and produced the most recent, Little Fockers — is set to write the screenplay. No word yet on who’s directing.

Jane Rosenthal and De Niro are returning to produce through Tribeca Productions, along with Jay Roach — who directed the first two films and produced all three past installments — through Delirious Media. Stiller and John Lesher will also produce through Red Hour Films. Executive Vice President of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garrell will oversee the project for the studio.

Prime Video has yet to announce Fallout Season 2 release date, but there's good news ahead for fans of the series. Walton Goggins offered a glimpse of The Ghoul to confirm they've started filming.

Fallout fans are raving over Walton Goggin's Instagram post, which teased him getting comfortable under The Ghoul's skin. The photo also confirmed it won't be long before Season 2 premieres. "Back in the saddle… #Deux. Gatdamn it feels good to slip on this skin. I do this shit for the love of the Game," Goggins wrote. He previously lamented the hours he spent on the makeup chair for the transformation, which involved nine pieces of thin silicone layered on his face, followed by finishing touches that fleshed out The Ghoul's irradiated, subhuman skin. The makeup team spent nine months perfecting the process, which reduced Goggin's five-hour ordeal to one hour and 45 minutes.

Rob Corddry has been promoted to series regular status for Season 2 of the Max comedy series “Bookie.” Corddry appeared in Season 1 of the Chuck Lorre series in the guest role of Walt Dinty.

Season 2 of “Bookie” is set to debut on the streamer in December. Corddry joins fellow returning cast members Sebastian Maniscalco, Omar J. Dorsey, Jorge Garcia, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito and Maxim Swinton.

Per the official description, “Bookie” follows “veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as the potential legalization of sports gambling in California threatens to upend his business for good. Apple TV+’s “Loot” is in the money: the comedy series, starring and executive produced by Maya Rudolph, has been renewed for a third season at the streamer.

Created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, “Loot” stars Rudolph as Molly Wells, who, after divorcing her tech billionaire husband (Adam Scott) after 20 years, must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement and turns her attention to running the charitable foundation she forgot she started to connect with the real world.

Fire Country is coming to Netflix. Season 1 of CBS’ popular drama will be available on Netflix in the US beginning August 1 in a deal made by series producer CBS Studios. This is an additional domestic streaming window for Fire Country, co-created and starring Max Thieriot, whose first two seasons are on Paramount+. It is designed to give the show additional exposure ahead of its Oct. 18 Season 3 premiere on CBS.

Paramount Global has been the most open to content windowing among the vertically integrated traditional media companies, with CBS Studios at the forefront of that, opening non-exclusive streaming windows for some of its current series on Netflix in the US after selling the shows internationally.

In a similar move, the studio in September 2020 licensed the first seasons of its CBS series Evil and The Unicorn to Netflix in advance of the shows’ second seasons on CBS that had been delayed by the pandemic.

Three men go grave-digging, but rather than robbing the dead, they’ve come with an offer. A rich bounty is up for grabs, and they need a little help to procure it. Honcho, the group’s leader, thinks he knows just the man for the job: a bounty hunter Honcho’s father used to work with, who’s been buried alive for years, maybe decades, at this very cemetery.

When you first see The Ghoul in “Fallout,” the most pronounced feature of Walton Goggins’ character is what’s missing. Just under the brim of his weathered cowboy hat and just above his wrinkled upper lip — you know, where his nose should be — there isn’t one. You can see the narrow nostril-dividing tissue, but there are no nostrils to divide. Instead, there’s just an A-shaped hole in his face. A cavity. An absence. So even though it’s obvious the handsome charmer from “Justified” is there, buried under a pound of latex, Prime Video viewers may not realize the physical demands of a role visibly defined by what’s been removed.

“I can’t see so well. I mean, I could see, but your periphery is gone,” Goggins said in an interview with IndieWire. “I’ve got these things over my teeth, so it’s hard to talk.

The great streaming purge has come for children’s TV.

Paramount+ has removed 10 kid-friendly series from its library, including a pair of streaming originals: The CG-animated Rugrats reboot and Big Nate — neither of which has been formally cancelled as of press time.

Following the widespread popularity of Greta Gerwig’s Warner Bros. summer release Barbie, which topped a billion dollars at the global box office, Mattel announced this week that it will release Barbie dolls in four film-related career paths: studio executive, director, cinematographer and movie star.

Not included in the line is a doll representing screenwriters, which is particularly notable following the recent Writers Guild of America strike that saw scribes pounding the pavement to remind the industry of their importance in the filmmaking process. With every new fresh hell unleashed upon the world, it feels like each day we're inching closer and closer to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the "Fallout" games. The distribution and production division of indie Shout Factory has emerged victorious in a bidding war at Cannes Film Festival. Shout Studios plans to release the film in theaters this fall.

Exclusive: Fresh off the series finale of CBS’ True Lies, Omar Miller has entered production in Italy on Naples to New York, an indie based on a story penned in the 1940s by a young Federico Fellini, who was not yet a filmmaker, and his longtime friend and collaborator Tullio Pinelli.

Set in 1949, this is a story of two children who set off on a journey across the ocean, as stowaways on a ship, looking for a family and opportunity in America. Along the way, they encounter characters both well-meaning and nefarious, who cement their faith in humanity. Miller plays George, an American cook on an international merchant ship who befriends our two young Italian stowaways. He’s a gentle giant with great comedic timing, and a strong sense of humanity.

Gabriele Salvatores is directing from his own script, with Paco Cinematografica, Isabella Cocuzza and Arturo Paglia serving as exec producers.

You Hurt My Feelings is one of those delightful films in which you could honestly envision a whole movie about each character, and would want to watch it. Even tangential characters, like the couple who want a refund for years of unsuccessful therapy (a hilarious David Cross and Amber Tambyln) are interesting and fun enough, in their own way. But it's the main four characters of Nicole Holofcener's new instant classic that obviously stand out the most here. They're delightful company in one of the best films of the year.
