From the opening score I was captured. The music delved right into the poetry lightning called love, seducing my ears as if a lover was chanting to me - and the script and acting followed. I loved several things about Rings, including the way it mixed traditional filmmaking with portrait presentation and a touch of cinéma vérité. I was also delighted to learn that the literary agent, Ted, is portrayed by the actual poet whose poem forms a foundation to the film. He gets to diss his own poem - love the irony. It shows the writers and producers know quite well the ironies of life, love, and luck, as evident by this film.
There's so much to this film! The depth of the many themes that run throughout this feature builds on the incredible overall message.
One of the themes, as the title indicates, is jewelry. You see this as an important element portrayed in seven different time periods of the main character's life. Society imprints on young women that rings signify the permanence of a relationship, but "Heather" discovers that to be false. As the story unfolds she learns that the only forever is happiness within herself.
Bravo to Princess Arthur Productions for the resourcefulness that led to this creation. It is remarkable how the Producer/Director made it appear as if the film came from a large studio when in actuality it is an indie film.
Kudos to the entire talented cast & crew. Very worthwhile film to watch!

Beautiful staging and excellent shooting varied and suggestive.....what as an audience we need the most is to be from the very start hooked and transported into a universe where our own emotions are called up. That's the case for all scenes ring in our mind and set our heart like a witness of a fiction where our character finds its place. That's precisely moments we need the most mainly in that times we're going through . To anchor again ourselves with values and private interrogation that we keep secret for public but transparent before the mirror every morning. Great work deserves all nominations.
Love how this work has many interconnected scenes and themes that carry throughout the film. These layers keep you entranced!
The likeness of the cast to their roles makes it realistic to the viewer, and allows them to see themselves in the scenes. The Actors employ a lot of subtle symbolism through their props and body movements that advance the storyline. While the Director uses a lot of symbols to delight the audience. How magical that the Director leaves no stone unturned.
Exceptional cinematography and excellent sound design filled in well for extra characters too, which gives more credibility to the overall strong message of the film. I liked that the main character "Heather" was able to free herself from the long search for a man and ends up happy whether the man shows or not.
With two amazing singers and two beautiful dance scenes, the film really keeps you entertained. Great job cast and crew!!

A moving story of romance, betrayal and redemption set to a lovely musical score.
Watching it almost makes you feel like you're in a dream sequence, and it feels very relatable, I think for relationships delving into intimacy and growth. I think anyone can relate to this story, but especially women who have experienced any form of trauma and have come through it wiser. It's never too late for love, forgiveness and friendships.
The landscapes were lovely and the cinematography was decent with an ethereal essence to the film.
Making an independent film not only takes a lot of patience, good business skills, good actors, a good film crew, distribution, and many other facets which can be a very tedious and strenuous process. So . . . Kudos to Michelle and her team for venturing into such an artistic venture and winning several awards for their hard work.
