What will they think of next????

This show is pretty sad to say the least. This is what America has come to.

It seems as though they're running out of ideas. I really hate to think that this is the image we portray to the outside world: spoiled materialistic, fake, silicone-based people whose only contribution to society is causing more melanoma and the popping of brain cells.

How can anyone watch this garbage? beats me, but like most "reality" shows it's known to be addicting even if it is meaningless, probably because people are so bored with their own lives that they feel the need to watch someone else's so-called life that is most likely script.

    Oh...my...God

Depicts everything that is wrong with Los Angeles: The self-marketing, self-celebrity. The superficiality. The materialism. The excess. The substance-less stupidity. If I was a terrorist and got cable, my next target would be LA, not NY after seeing this show. This is without a doubt the absolute worst America has to offer. Borat's depiction of the Midwest makes us look downright sane in comparison…and that was comedy. In contrast, this is an attempt at showing a "serious business" and the inside life of the valley. The producers apparently are from the area and don't find any of it strange, ironic, or disturbingly fascinating. It's done just like the tattoo show; very matter-of-fact and like it's something to strive for. For the love of God, the salesman talked this one bitch into putting her fair-skinned, true-blond 7 yr old in a tanning bed at the cost $1200 for her school picture. And keep in mind, I lived for over seven years in Las Vegas, so I am not unaccustomed to flashy lights or the big city. I feel ill after watching this, and I don't even have a problem with spray-on tanning or tans in general! Siiiick. I'm going to give it 5 instead of a 1 because it is educational on why people constantly bash LA so much: Guess what, they're justified.

    Empty Headed Leather

    Hilarious. Simply hilarious.

If anyone stops to look at this program for a few moments, it's easy to tell that this is a show about male entrepreneurs who've found another shallow hole to keeping some folks chasing after that "forever beauty" - this time with indoor tanning. It'll be no big surprise that "Sunset Tan" will be a mere passing-fad, an afterthought in a year or two. But for now, sit back and watch the fun.

Come on. You know this show hasn't any social redeeming value whatsoever. It's entrepreneurial greed for two middle aged men; it's superficial young folks just starting to work and learning a bad things about business along the way and quick beauty for those who chase after that sort of thing. Of course, it HAS to be in Los Angeles/Las Vegas so folks in other states can point and say "I told ya so!". (Turst me, there are decent families and young adults in both places, this is just a very small segment of people.)

What makes this "reality-bit" somewhat entertaining is watching these superficial folks trying to convince an audience of 'running a business' with the 'private lives' of these ultra fake human beings. Not many people who view are that dense. It's simple: There are those who think being a bit darker makes them more beautiful and will pay for the quick fix, just like BOTOX, et al. Bully for them - until the next fad comes along and these folks will move over and jump to that - just like sheep. The folks working their lives are about as interesting as anything else without substance and meaning.

And the managers? They've got to be kidding if they think that running a Sunset Tan store is akin to being Store Manager at...lets say...WalMart. In other words, increasing Sunset Tan's sales are nothing to loose sleep over. It's a niche market, small and select clientèle. That's why the window for sales opportunity is narrow-and its best to get young, empty headed, oblivious pretty young adults to buy into it. WalMart, well...ya know.

What I do enjoy about Sunset Tan: the 'Olly' girls (Molly and Holly). Only reason I watch. Without them - crappy show. You know what Molly and Holly are about. No pretension at all. And yes, I vote they should get their own show.

Everyone should watch if they do get their own show (you know they will!). You'll learn a very valuable lesson: Doesn't matter how much education you have, how much experience you have - let those two dim bulbs step in to your place of employment -- and someone's job security is crap. The employer who'll hire them will always find SOMETHING for them to do. They will always take credit for someone else's work as their own. They are the ones that will ALWAYS get a "new title" or "promotion". Stop wondering why - you'll SEE why on this show.

Try not to take yourselves TOO seriously Sunset Tan...if all we like are the "olly" girls...you know what's going to happen next.

    Sunset tan...

Here's my view on the show...I'll have to agree with lots of people, it is full of orange-tanned, bleached out, fake looking people with lots of drama. But, not to stay that makes it horrible. The first time I watched this show, I was thinking wow...way too much drama. But somehow I kept watching it, wanting to see what happens next (I'm sure that's what gets lots of people sucked into reality shows). I hate to admit it, but I'm amused to watch what stupid things the Olly girls do, who gets fired, who cheats on who, etc. And I watch to see who I will hate in each episode. Plus, I love the LA beach scene (which is what made me watch it in the first place).

Bottom line, this show isn't one of TV's finest...but it's very amusing and it keeps me watching, not because it's a good show but because the drama can become addictive. And for all the people saying "what has TV come to", and these people need to literally die (just a little harsh), nobody's forcing you to watch it. And if everybody had the same opinion as you, then they wouldn't even have it on.

simple, entertaining show about the tanning business

someones begging for attention, histrionic much?.... you can't be serious.... malignant melanoma is very rare, and genetic. A healthy tan actually helps prevent damage from the sun. excessive tanning can be problematic but the only real damage is burning. If someone tans regularly their skin develops a shield, if you will, it adapts to the UVA and UVB rays.

as for the show, its delightful, for some reason i don't know why. maybe its because "the Olly girls" are so completely useless and entertainingly dense. and the owners are bad asses. what the hell is this 10 line nonsense this is very irritating, i don't much plan again on commenting on this site again, just plain ridiculous.
