    Decent and very earnest

This is a half-hour drama about a young man (Nicholas Pryor) who is torn between working during the summer with his father's business or doing social work. The father, naturally, wants the son to take over the family business once he's completed college, but the son is drawn to his professor of social work (Kevin McCarthy). So, he has to decide what to do--have a secure job with dad or a job with a crappy salary but intrinsic rewards helping others. Frankly, as an ex-social worker, I think he should go to work with his dad (but that's a long story!).

The acting isn't bad in this show but it did all seem a bit too idealistic and deadly earnest. As a result, it does lack realism--1960's problems couldn't have been this minor! Still, it's harmless entertainment and an interesting time capsule on the time In addition to Pryor and McCarthy, Suzanne Pleshette is also featured in this show.
