Well, where can I start, the zombie make up really bad. But overall, the movie was really entertaining, really funny, and I love the reference (intended or not) of Guillermo Del Toro as an Kronos.
My teen kids and I watched this movie together and we were laughing really hard, El guion bien mamon. Es un típico churrote whitexican con toque ñero pero me encantó. I'm just sick and tired of seeing Alejandro Puente Acting in teenage or very young adult characters... Who the heck is casting these movies or him he looks old and very flamboyant, nothing wrong with that but come on find him rules and movie makers, please don't use him as a teenager. He does not look young at all....

A poor attempt to create a mix between movies such as the unforgettable Zombieland and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse. There are several worth watching zombie-comedies out there if you are looking for it, including the ones mentioned above and Shawn of the Dead or The Dead Don't Die to name a few, but on the other hand on this one the acting feels just meh... It lacks of soul and charisma, the casting is ridiculous, old dudes pretending to be... teenagers? C'mon, and Barbara de Regil s*cks as usual.
In the end as a zombies genre fan since I was a kid (and I have watched tons, trust me) i'd definitely rather pass on this one, you aren't missing anything.

Terrible movie with a lot of offensive stereotypes. Full of bad words. A TERRIBLE WASTE OF TIME.
If you want to lose 87 minutes of your life, see this generic zombies movie.
Barbara de Regil is terrible.
This movies tried to be "Zombieland" or "Shawn of the Dead" but fails miserably.
As a Mexican i hated this movie, and i think this class of movies are very awkful and offensive. You don't really need to call an asian guy "F*king Jackie Chan". But "Videocine" (the company of the movie) usually makes horrible movies.

I don't leave a lot of reviews, but this movie was phenomenal.
It had action, comedy, and a little love.
Every actor/actress nailed their part 100%.
I am not a fan of 'kids save the world' type of movies, I was set to not like this one.
Iñaki Godoy played Tavo was amazing, his character is the one from the wrong side of the tracks, charismatic, and funny!
And he is in love with Ana (Roberta Damián) the well off pretty girl. She was so expressive with her facial inflections.
This movie has explosions, some amazing special effects, swords, and guns.
It was halloween with real zombies and a group of kids to stop the "zombies in Mexico"
This is a film I will buy as soon as I can so I. An watch it again.

Of course I had not heard about this 2022 Mexican horror comedy "MexZombies", despite the fact that I am a huge zombie fan. But truth be told, I don't keep up with any future releases, and just take things as they come. But as I stumbled upon director Chava Cartas's 2022 movie here in 2025, of course I had to check it out, given my love of all things zombie.
While the movie definitely started out nicely and had a good run to about halfway through, I have to admit that writers Luis Gamboa and Santiago Limón failed to keep the streak going, and the movie sort of slipped into a mediocre runt. Sure it was watchable, but the air sort of deflated from the balloon about halfway through and it became a tad generic.
Given my very limited exposure to the Mexican cinema, then I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. I will say, though, that the acting performances were good.
Now, the special effects in the movie were really good. I really liked the zombie make-up and effects, because they looked really nice, and added something to the overall impression of the movie.
Watchable, for sure, but "MexZombies" ultimately left me with a sense of it being a generic movie.
My rating of director Chava Cartas's 2022 movie "MexZombies" lands on a five out of ten stars.
