A divisive Tim Burton adaptation is surging on streaming two decades after its original release. Burton is a two-time Oscar nominee who is known for creative and frequently macabre works including Beetlejuice, Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands, and 1999's Sleepy Hollow.

While many Tim Burton movies are original stories, he has helmed a fair number of adaptations as well. This includes 2010's Alice in Wonderland (a Disney live-action remake that grossed more than $1 billion), 2007's Sweeney Todd (an adaptation of the 1979 Stephen Sondheim musical), and an earlier movie that has found new life on streaming.

A billion-dollar Disney live-action remake is now surging on streaming. Disney originally became known for their classic animated features such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. However, in recent years, there have been a number of Disney live-action remakes reimagining their animated classics.

While early examples include 1994's The Jungle Book and 1996's 101 Dalmatians, the current boom did not truly kick off until the 2010 release of Tim Burton's billion-dollar hit Alice in Wonderland. Since then, many Disney classics have gotten the live-action treatment, including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and more.

Freeform has announced its annual 31 Nights of Halloween programming, airing a variety of family-friendly spooky movies daily from October 1 through Halloween.

Many seasonal staples are represented, including Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Casper, The Witches, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, Edward Scissorhands, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

There’s even a few deeper cuts to traumatize the youth, like Arachnophobia, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Black Cauldron, and Disturbia, the latter making its Freeform debut.

Jurassic World Rebirth has surpassed multiple movies at the domestic box office in its eighth weekend. It includes three comic book blockbusters, two of which are DC movies. The Scarlett Johansson-led blockbuster is on its way to hitting the $850 million mark at the worldwide box office, and it is expected to happen this upcoming weekend. Keep scrolling for the deets.

After this weekend, Jurassic World became the 83rd highest-grossing film ever at the domestic box office, which is amazing. The Scarlett Johansson-led movie was made on a hefty budget of $180 million and has earned 87.7% more than its break-even point.

Somewhat poetically, Disney's new Lilo & Stitch movie has now outgrossed the box office blockbuster that began the studio's wave of live-action remakes 15 years ago. Lilo & Stitch has long been available on PVOD platforms, and is the only Hollywood movie of the year to have passed the coveted $1 billion mark worldwide. It's also the second-biggest hit of 2025 globally, behind only the Chinese hit Ne Zha 2, which has made more than $2 billion at the box office. Lilo & Stitch was an unlikely success story, having originated as a streaming release. It is now among the 60 biggest hits in global box office history.

More recently, Burton directed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which brought back Michael Keaton, as well as Catherine O'Hara and Winona Ryder. Every so often, we’ll get a prison show that is so intense it’ll put us off watching anything serious for a really long time. In The Mud, as I’ve learned after watching the whole series, is a spinoff of the popular Argentinian show El Marginal. Unfortunately, I have not seen the original, but I have a feeling I wouldn’t have liked it very much based on what I’ve seen in this show. In The Mud tells the story of a few women in the La Quebrada prison, who find themselves in a complicated situation after one of their fellow inmates manages to escape, putting them all on the spot. The series gives you everything from prison gang wars and sexual assault to human trafficking and abuse of power. It doesn’t hold back and is certainly one of the more gory shows you’ll see on Netflix.

KPop Demon Hunters may have earned little attention during its developmental phase, but it’s currently so hot on the market that a subsequent installment is inevitable.

An English-language film set in Seoul, KPop Demon Hunters (see review here), tells the story of the girl group Huntr/X, who double as demon hunters. They’re met with a challenge when the boy group Saja Boys debuts in the bustling K-pop industry, aiming to outshine the girl band.

Netflix‘s breakout animated hit KPop Demon Hunters may contain a hidden tribute to Alice in Wonderland. Yumyan, aka the Derpy Tiger, the feline companion of Jinu, shares several striking similarities with Cheshire Cat from Tim Burton’s 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland. The parallels suggest that the character may be a subtle homage to Lewis Carroll’s world of Wonderland.

Like Cheshire Cat, Derpy is a large, non-verbal, feline creature. It was initially aligned with the antagonist side, but later reveals a loyal side. In Alice, the Cheshire Cat is a beast controlled by the Red Queen. After Alice shows kindness, she becomes an ally. Similarly, Derpy is introduced as a courier working for Jinu, the leader of the demon boy group Saja Boys.

He is dim-witted but fiercely loyal. In one scene, he offers Rumi’s bracelet to his master Jinu and tries to remind him of his humanity...

Peacemaker season 2 will see John Cena’s antihero tackle a whole bunch of villains, both old and new. Written and developed by James Gunn, who is the co-chief of DC Studios and directed Superman recently, Peacemaker season 2 will directly relate to the events of Superman and will see Peacemaker go on another mission with the 11th Street Kids.

Gunn has confirmed that most events of season 1 and The Suicide Squad are canon to the show, which means quite a few villains who survived the previous season will return.

The first-look image of Hannibal creator/showrunner Bryan Fuller and lead star Mads Mikkelsen's new movie, Dust Bunny, has been revealed. Revolving around an eight-year-old girl enlisting a skilled hitman to kill the monster under her bed, the horror thriller will mark Fuller's directorial debut.

Mikkelsen will star as the neighbor hitman. Joining him in the movie's all-star cast are Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, and Sophie Sloan.

Now, Collider has unveiled the first-look image of Dust Bunny, teasing Fuller's alluring and vibrant world. Mikkelsen, Weaver, and Solan can be seen sitting on a dark green couch while having a conversation. With a teapot and a plate of finger sandwiches on the table, the image evokes an Alice in Wonderland vibe. It's also been confirmed that the movie will come to theaters on December 12.
