Well, the 2024 crime action movie "Lady Scorpions" was not a movie that I was familiar with. And since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to give the movie a fair chance.
I am a little bit amazed with the fact that writers Stephen Carolan, Bruce Del Castillo and H. Daniel Gross collectively couldn't manage to churn out a more profound or layered script and storyline. Sure, the movie was watchable and entertaining enough for what it was, but it just wasn't a memorable movie. In fact, "Lady Scorpions" is a movie that you will watch once, then bag and tag it. However, it should be noted that if you enjoy the semi-plotless martial arts movies from the late 1980s and early 1990s, then you might get a bigger kick out of this movie. The movie was light in terms of storyline and narrative, and was carried by the fight scenes and action.
Of the entire cast ensemble, I was only familiar with Jeff Fahey and Cynthia Rothrock. The acting performances in the movie were fair, but nothing outstanding or memorable though.
The movie does have a fair amount of action and fighting, and it is essentially that which keeps the movie afloat.
Watchable for what it was, though I doubt that I will ever return to watch "Lady Scorpions" a second time.
My rating of director Bruce Del Castillo, whom also wrote and starred in the movie, movie "Lady Scorpions" lands on bland five out of ten stars.

I have no idea why the director producer or writer decided to make her the lead actress has gone to crap even though her whole life she's just been a television martial artist and has never for tournaments in like fighting tournaments so really martial arts was really for tv she wants some championships in form whatever the heck that is.
She can no longer fight now for TV either she can't kick very high at all so they've had to use it because it show this movie is not CGI. You can tell her they've had to use Body doubles a couple times for her kick because you watch her most of the time her kicks are pathetic, she could barely run and her acting is really gone downhill.
Meanwhile, you have the girl that should've been a lead actress Caitlyn numerous arts championships, starting at the age of six decided at the age of 24 to retire and get into stunt work, which got her into some roles. She's actually a pretty good actress. She is an amazing martial artist and you could see it in her punches it blows my mind that she doesn't have the lead role, they should've made her for her daughter and her grandma her mother getting information from her separately and her having the call and that's about it so just really having Grandma's voice and then maybe at the end the Grandma comes and helps this whole thing you make Cynthia the lead actress in this when you have lightning in a bottle that you're not using if you use it and wrote the script a little bit differently you could've had a movie that was like a seven piece of garbage so I'm not sure if Cynthia's dating or married to producer Director writer I hope you got something like that I was really looking forward to this movie and then I got very disappointed to.

Alena Moore (Cynthia Rothrock) is a drug enforcement agent. She has been to get criminal head Lucien (Jeff Fahey) for years.
Lucien warns her to stay away as he has a big deal planned. His wayward son has different ideas, knowing that Alena will not stop interfering.
He attacks Alena's daughter Lacy (Caitlin Dechelle) and then abducts the grandaughter.
Now both Alena and Lacy who are both experts at martial arts unite to find her.
Lucien is not pleased that his son has gone rogue.
Lady Scorpions is a generic action thriller with an awful script. Director Bruce Del Castillo who has worked on some Quentin Tarantino movies, tips a hat to films like Kill Bill.
There is plenty of action, Cynthia Rothrock fans would be happy. There is no denying that she is over the hill. The rest would find it disappointing. Some of the movie is just dumb.

I think the movie is great with a combination of action, drama and suspense. It is entertaining even though I don't really care for the bloody scenes. The lady scorpions are very talented and well-equipped with tactics for defense! I like that the director chose two women as protagonists and that they really nailed it! As someone who is a fan of martial arts and ninja moves, I recommend this movie to watch. I also think that the movie has some funny elements and so honestly this is something that movie viewers look forward to watch. And lastly, you can watch it in almost all digital platforms!
Looking forward to more of your work 😎.

This movie was my most anticipated of the 4 pack that this company is releasing back to back, mostly because it star Cynthia Rothrock in a lead role for the first time in a while. And on that regard, the movie didn't disapointed, as she is truly the lead (or co-lead) and have plenty of action scenes.
Is she still as able to move at 67 like when she was 20? Obviously no, but i was really surprise how well she could do for her age. She is still in incredible shape.
The co-lead Caitlin Dechelle, who plays her daughter in the movie, is a real martial artist and stunt actor, so of course her on screen fights were pretty good. Her acting was also very fine, especially for someone who has not starred in many movies (but instead doubled the stars). Even the kid actress, wich i can't find the name here, was good.
This one was for me the best of the 3 movies so far that i watched as they released. The story was more engaging and seem to have more stakes, even tough there is more holes in it than a swiss cheese. The vilains are very cliché and the plot seem completely out of the late 80s or early 90s, but somehow maybe because it dealt with a kid as hostage and violent criminal, it drough me in more.
Im not gonna spoil anything but i was left extremely confuse by the ending tough. Not sure if they want to set a sequel or they ran out of budget but i was like "wtf" and it took a point out of the movie for me.
Overall its an entertaining movie for Martial Arts fan, and its good to see Cynthia star in a few movies before its too late. I mean i can't see her being able to do fight scenes at 75 or 80, at least being credible doing so. So im gonna enjoy it while its still possible.
I rated the previous 2 movies released recently by this company 6 out of 10, and i would had given this one a 7 if not for the ending, so its gonna be a 6 again. But its the best of 3. Now the one left is starring Caitlin Dechelle on her own, and from what i seen in this one, it should be at least entertaining action wise. We will see in a week or 2.
