Exclusive: Studiocanal has revealed a first image for Vincent Maël Cardona’s tense behind-closed-doors thriller No One Will Know as it launches sales on the title at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris this week.

The huis close follows the clients and bar staff of a shabby cafe outside Paris in the early hours of the morning, who enter into a deadly pact when an elderly regular comes in and wins €294 million in the lottery.

The murder of teenager Hae Min Lee was the focal point of a “Serial” podcast, which questioned if boyfriend Syed was her killer. Exclusive: Brandon T. Jackson (Percy Jackson franchise) and Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country) have joined Abbie Cornish and Jack Huston in feature drama I’m Beginning To See The Light.

From veteran Russian filmmaker Konstantin Khudyakov, the film will follow Ezra (Huston), a grief-stricken jazz trumpeter who seeks purpose and salvation after the sudden, tragic death of his wife and daughter. When he is mistaken for the new lighthouse keeper, Ezra meets Hannah (Cornish), a local school teacher who, along with ethereal music, reignites his passion for life and imbues it with meaning.

Chung will play Sarah, the wife of Ezra and mother of their 10-year-old daughter. She loves Ezra but is angry at him for the time and energy that he pours into a career that no longer supports them. Norman Lear is getting into business with IMDb TV. He has set two projects in development at the Amazon-owned free streaming service including the Laverne Cox-George Wallace comedy Clean Slate, which previously was in development at Peacock.

The streamer is working with Lear’s Act III Productions and Sony Pictures Television, where Lear is under an overall deal, on Clean Slate and Loteria.

Clean Slate, which initially was announced as part of NBCUniversal’s development slate in January 2020, is set to star Cox and Wallace. The half-hour comedy follows Henry (Wallace), an old-school car wash owner who is thrilled that his estranged child is returning home to Alabama after 17 years. Part of the fun of watching “The Masked Singer” is making guesses as to the real identities of the celebrity contestants. We’ve been fans of the Frog ever since he appeared alongside the rest of Group B in episode 4. He is the last contender still standing of the six stars who started out in this group. He is competing on the May 20 final against the Night Angel and the Turtle for the Golden Mask.

The drama behind-the-scenes of a Fast and Furious project is allegedly a lot more petty than originally thought. A new report on the situation caught the eye of Terry Crews, who hilariously responded to the contract stipulations of Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Statham. The franchise spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, which hits theaters today, was no exception. On a set full of alpha male action stars, everything has to be equal since nobody wants to be perceived as weaker than their co-stars.

Terry Crews knows all about being an action star, but it appears his ego isn't as large as some of his contemporaries. Contract stipulations are as old as time. Actors want their name first in the credits, bigger on a billboard, more screen time, etc. Now, it has spilled out into the sharing of muscles and fight scenes, which has always been there, but is now under a microscope.

Exclusive: Veteran manager/producer Brad Kaplan has joined Link Entertainment as a partner. Kaplan, who comes from Primary Wave Entertainment, will work out of Link’s West L.A. offices which were expanded last month in part to make room for the company’s growing literary department.

The actress got her start in the industry as a member of the R&B/pop group 3Lw and then went on to show off her Broadway chops when she played Little Inez in Hairspray.

For her feature film debut, she stepped into the role of rapper Lil’ Kim in Fox Searchlight’s Notorious which told the story about the life and death of hip-hop legend Notorious B.I.G. From there, she went on to add numerous credits to her name in both film and television including the remake of Fame, the Netflix comedy Step Sisters, the Warner Bros. feature Lottery Ticket as well as TV series such as The Playboy Club, The Client List, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Mad Men.

Naughton received two NAACP awards for her role in Power.

The Hollywood community is in mourning once again, after losing another beloved actor and comedian. Charlie Murphy, the older brother of legendary comedian Eddie Murphy and star of the iconic comedy series Chappelle's Show, has passed away at the age of 57. Murphy's manager confirmed that he died from Leukemia earlier this morning in a New York City hospital, where he was undergoing chemotherapy.

TMZ reports that the actor's death comes as an absolute shock to his family, since they had thought he was improving. The site says that his family would call him frequently, and that he would even joke that they were calling him too much. It hasn't been confirmed how long he had been undergoing chemotherapy treatment for, before his death.

Charlie Murphy was born July 12, 1959 in Brooklyn to Lillian Murphy, a telephone operator, and Charles Edward Murphy, a New York transit officer who was also an amateur actor and comedian.

Sweden’s Financing Forum for Kids Content has selected two projects from Film Bazaar’s inaugural Children Screenwriters’ Lab for its 10th edition.

Sagarika Banik’s A Lottery Ticket was chosen to join the Forum as a pitching project. It is a rite-of-passage tale about a boy who believes his lottery ticket will fulfil his dream of owning a bicycle one day.

Head of the Forum Annette Brejner said, “Banik is telling a story for the story’s own sake and with a truly local origin. We believe this project can turn into a beautiful film, with the right kind of roughness and cinematographic texture, which will inspire a young audience – not only in India.”

Adding another £4.79m in the past seven days, The Lego Movie now stands at a sturdy £26.67m after three weeks of play. That puts it level with the lifetime tallies of blockbusters including Spider-Man 2 (£26.72m) and Ocean's Eleven (£26.47m), and ahead of fellow animations including Ratatouille (£24.80m) and Wall-e (£22.91m). The Lego Movie will pretty soon overtake the likes of Shrek (£29m) and A Bug's Life (£29.45m) and is clearly headed into the mid-30s (£m).

Although box office for The Lego Movie is certainly skewed to the weekend, its decent performance in the Monday-to-Thursday period suggests that it is picking up a true adult audience, rather than merely adult chaperones of children.

Be honest: every time you play the lottery, the same fantasy runs through your head, of you sitting in a bath full of champagne, wearing a top hat and monocle, and throwing wads of cash into the air gleefully. Before you’ve even left the shop, you’ve spent half the money that you’re almost definitely destined to win, no matter what the actual odds.

A couple of months back we heard that Eddie Murphy was in talks to reprise his iconic role as fast-talking cop Axel Foley -- not in a sequel or a remake, but rather, a brand new Beverly Hills Cop TV series. At the time, it was still being shopped around Hollywood, but since then we have learned that the show was picked up by CBS, who have ordered a pilot. CBS is looking to cast character actor Brandon T. Jackson in the lead role of their small screen adaptation of Beverly Hills Cop. Jackson has had roles in several films that include Tropic Thunder, Lottery Ticket, Fast & Furious Percy Jackson; Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son and more.

Jackson would play Aaron, the son of Eddie Murphy's character Axel Foley. Murphy is also planning to reprise his original role in a guest-star capacity. His son would be the main focus of the series, helping take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills while trying to escape the shadow of his larger-than-life father.

We're not saying that everything cool happens on Friday the 13th, but cool things seem to happen every Friday the 13th. On April 13th a new idea in entertainment will launch with a horror-themed premium channel on YouTube Channel. This is BlackBoxTV.

As we mentioned earlier this year, the creator of television's "CSI", Anthony E. Zuiker; director Tony E. Valenzuela; and Collective Digital Studio are presenting the channel, which will feature a variety of programming. The official launch site is YouTube.com/BlackBoxTV. Anchor Bay Films has picked up the rights to Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa's film Mac & Devin Go to High School. The agreement includes all rights, excluding subscription VOD, for the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. Directed by Dylan C. Brown, Mac & Devin Go to High School follows the release of the chart-topping soundtrack of the same name which debuted back in December 2011. Additionally, the film will be supported by Snoop and Wiz at numerous upcoming tour dates. Today's deal was announced by Bill Clark, President of Anchor Bay Entertainment.

"We're extremely excited to be working with Snoop and Wiz," stated Clark. "Their new album has done extremely well and we're happy they chose Anchor Bay Films to release Mac & Devin."

"Snoop has an extremely loyal following and somehow, even though he's only one person, he's everywhere," commented Kevin Kasha, Executive Vice President, Acquisitions and Co-Productions for Anchor Bay Films.

Actress Teairra Mari was arrested in Los Angeles on Friday morning for allegedly attacking a police officer.

The pretty star, who appeared opposite rapper Bow Wow in last year's Lottery Ticket film, lashed out while she was being arrested for a DUI, according to TMZ.com.

The officer noticed "signs of intoxication" as he quizzed the 23 year old after she had rear-ended a car on her way home from a night out.

The police report suggests Mari became "combative" with the arresting officer, who suffered a minor cut to his hand during the incident.

Mari now faces multiple charges, including DUI and assault on a police officer.

At press time the actress was still in police custody.

Jumping the Broom, the comedy about family drama, will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray on Aug. 9 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The movie follows two families getting together for the wedding of Sabrina Watson (Paula Patton, Precious) and Jason Taylor (Laz Alonso, Fast & Furious). The families’ differences are apparent and threaten to tear apart the couple’s wedding.

Angela Bassett (Boyz N the Hood), Loretta Devine (For Colored Girls), Mike Epps (both from Lottery Ticket) and Julie Bowen (TV’s Modern Family) also star in the PG-13 film.

The movie grossed $36 million in theaters after bowing to mixed reviews from critics.

The DVD will be priced at $30.99 and Blu-ray at $35.99.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray includes these special features:

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released its annual list of invited new members, and it’s clear they’re continuing to try to make their membership younger. On the list alongside veterans like John Hawkes and David Duchovny are a slew of twentysomethings, including Mia Wasikowska, Ellen Page, Jesse Eisenberg, Mila Kunis, Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Lawrence, and Rooney Mara. The Board of Governors also decided to extend an invitation to Restrepo codirector Tim Hetherington, the first time Academy membership has been bestowed posthumously. As a side note, it’s also a hoot to now say the phrase Oscar voter Russell Brand.

Director John Singleton’s acclaimed 1991 crime drama Boyz N the Hood is making its way to high-definition Blu-ray on July 19. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring out the film in a 20th Anniversary Edition priced at $19.95.

Nominated for two Academy Awards, the movie tells the story of three friends growing up on the streets of Los Angeles’ South Central. Ice Cube (Lottery Ticket) stars as Doughboy, an unambitious drug dealer; Morris Chestnut (TV’s V) as his brother Ricky, a college-bound teenage father; and Cuba Gooding Jr. (The Hit List) as Ricky’s best friend Tre, who aspires to get out of the Hood. Who’S It For?: Anyone who likes to go to weddings to both watch people fight, and to also laugh with some of the crazier relatives. Being a fan of Mike Epps nearly guarantees enjoyment of this movie.

Expectations: A lot of familiar faces are on this poster. Regardless of how good or bad the drama is, it’s gotta be somewhat funny, right?

Is there any film better than Ed Zwick’s 1989 film Glory, about the founding of legendary Massachusetts 54th Colored Union Regiment? I can’t imagine seeing how anyone isn’t be moved by the film; A film that was extremely difficult to make back then, and would be impossible today.
