In 1994, Anil Kappor was to do a film titled " Sautela" written by Karan Razdan Starring Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, directed by Pankaj Prashar. Tutu shelved the film and started Raaj Kumar. Anil insisted Karan make the film. Several producers came into the picture . Finally Producer Nimesh Mehta came in the picture. Nimesh had signed Ashok Gaikwad to direct a film with Jackie Shroff and had Jackie Shroff's dates blocked. Jackie heard the script and agreed. Manisha Koirala and Danny Denzongpa were also signed. The producer kept insisting that Karan Razdan write the script so they could shoot in Hong Kong. Then he changed his mind and wanted Nepal.But they realized Nepal didn't have the high tech facilities to shoot all the action scenes. Finally Nimesh Mehta and Karan Razdan had a falling out regarding the script and the film was shelved
