The character, Sharon, is likely a reference to Greek mythology, in which Charon is the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead.

Goofs
The scene where Nancy is bringing Harry food in bed and calling up to him is not the same when shown at the end of the show as it is at the beginning. The timing of when she calls to him does not match up to what is occurring.
