Bhavishya: The Future

Myself along with my friends watched this film at the concluding session of the International Hindi Sammellan on the 14th of January 2007 at New Delhi. We were told that this is the maiden effort of its director with a cast mostly comprising of real life characters. The screening had been specially arranged as at the moment the film has only had a limited release in the UK. Minor problems of projection due to non-availability of proper equipment that day were soon forgotten as the film progressed and we became engrossed in the story. The film has been concluded to be a great effort and all appreciated it. Theme is great, music and songs are fantastic. Direction is superb and acting by amateur artists is praiseworthy. Some of us were discussing whether there was any need of a professional actor Mr. Sayeed Jaffery; but finally concluded that he delivered a very powerful monologue with a great message and added to the overall charm of the film. The medical student couple gave an impressive performance in the lead roles. The editing could have been better as, some scenes in the going on film are abruptly cut to start a new scene. In all, the film has come up in a good way and we wait the promised release of the DVD, that would certainly make a place in my collections
