I gave this film a 6/10 a few years ago, but on watching it again yesterday, downgrading my judgment to a 3/10.

There are so many issues:

• how is it that a young girl grows a fairly dark, thick moustache without any other facial hair at all?

• why won't she let her boyfriend see this feature?

• why do the doctor and nurse turn out all the lights during the surgery: surely they would want to see what they are doing?

• why did she change her mind?

• what is with the truly awful musical score for the final dance segment?; sure, it is wonderful to celebrate accepted differences, but to do so to music that is incredibly jarring and dissonant seems a little weird
• what was the writer's theme? And if it was, as I suspect, to accept bodily differences, surely a more plausible scenario could have been found with which to present such

I have a real penchant for Korean films: they are so often delightfully outside the box and capable of pushing moral, social, sexual and cultural boundaries, but this one simply went in such a totally unexpected direction to seemingly get nowhere.

Not very good.
