And not afraid to pull any punches! If you like your comedies dark, than this one will be a movie you should look out for. It is anything but political correct. It is borderline many times and has a few flaws, but it is funny as can be.
Again only if you can wrap your mind around the crazy plot and the sometimes degrading humour. The actors do a fantastic job, it's shot a bit like a documentary and the music is really great. It's nicely edited and has a strong "strangely" positively feeling about it. I just loved the movie and I'm happy to have caught it on the Fantasy Filmfest in Stuttgart.

This guy has it tough, no doubt about it. An accident put Geirr (Fridtjov Såheim) in a wheelchair, literally bringing his life to a standstill. Disability insurance has made him a wealthy man, but he spends his days locked in a darkened room, watching "Apocalypse Now", listening to "Folsom Prison Blues", doing dope and booze, following the example of the Man in Black himself in nearly every way. Geirr's girlfriend Ingvild (Kirsti Torhaug) tries to grin and bear it, but it's obvious she could use some help. Well, she isn't going to get it from Tori (Kjersti Holmen), an annoying Martha Stewart type self-help guru, or her flying circus of misfits. Instead, Geirr is about to teach the group a valuable lesson and serve them a "hot dog for your brain." Great performances. Extremely refreshing. Surprisingly violent. But these clowns, they had it coming. See it with your kids.
This movie is actually very special. Not many movies have been this straight forward and cut through THAT much bullshit when it comes to people feeling sorry for themselves. Finally a movie that doesn't walk the straight line where an overly positive person makes everything better or an overly negative person destroys everything. In this movie the the two different ends meet and wreaks havoc. The movie was shot in 20 days and that is quite astonishing..they punch through a wall or two when it comes to taboo areas and in an intelligent and interesting way. If you're gonna watch a Norwegian movie this year or the next I would recommend you see this. It has a lot of fantastic funny moments and if you like the Danish movie FESTEN or the American movie RUNNING WITH SCISSORS you will surely like this one. I'm not a big fan of Norwegian movies, but this one actually has a nerve that most movies lack...what nerve is that? Just go and see it.. :)
This film concerns the rehabilitation of people who suffered severe disabilities in their lifetime. They form a support group under the guidance of a council worker who tries her best to keep them thinking positively. I felt the premise threaded similar ground as to Someone flew over the Cuckoo's nest - this time however with the patients having their comeuppance.
This group try to influence a quadriplegic new comer who is filthy mean, rich and most of the time intoxicated!
By the end everyone is sort of changed by one means or another but not by positive thinking! Hence the title.
I found almost all characters having a mean streak in them and somewhat egotistical in nature that impeded me from warming up to this film. Having said that the characters are well drawn out and very well acted. It is not predictable and the film is about the journey that the protagonists undergo.

a cool film about a physically disabled group thinking in a positive way, until a new member enters the gang unwillingly on his part. suddenly everyone comes to terms of how miserable they really are, which is not necessarily a bad moment in their li...(read more)ves. they rather seem to have a new purpose in life in a most enjoyable destructive way. the characters are just funny as hell, and i think the film easily could have gone 1 hour longer with great results. this was Oscar worthy in my opinion, but it was also too short. if there would be better time exploring the characters that would be great, because there really was something special about these people in wheelchairs that makes you think of what you usually take for granted. the relationship between Geirr and his wife was really powerful and seemed so real and conflicting. everyone should see this film as a sake of not missing out on something great.
