    For lobotomy recipients only.

As a previous reviewer stated, this is a collection of videos from a farm hobbled together (probably using a free video editor from the web.). Horrible camera work (even home movies are better) with horrible voice over. In fact, maybe they were trying to imitate funniest home videos. Well it didn't work. Yes, a 1-3 year old may enjoy it but then why bill it as a Family Adventure. I guess if all the family had lobotomies it would be suitable. FWIW - I am Australian with Scottish ancestry and regularly watch British productions and I still find the voice over horrible. Luckily I only paid 80c but still feel ripped off. Now to find a better movie....

    So cute and lovable!

Genre: Non-animated family film set on a farm with sheepdogs.

Why I like it: This is one of my new TOP TEN favourite films! It is SO good for a modern film, I prefer it to a lot of the stuff that comes up in the cinemas nowadays. It should have an overall rating on this site!

What it ALL adds up to: Absolute cuteness+a CREEPY baddie+a good storyline + the fact that the sheepdogs' mouths don't move when they talk + lovely characters + good music + Good English accents/voices = this lovely and enjoyable motion picture!

I recommend it to all Sheepdog fans, English-film fans, people who are frustrated by CGI mouths and people who like funny films! ENJOY! :)

What happens: From the moment she sees the woolly creatures, Mist wants to become a real sheepdog. However, THAT will mean putting up with Fern and being trained by Sir Gregory...

P.S I'm the first person to review this. That has NEVER happened before...

    Unfair comment

I am originally from Scotland and agree with Zebra there on his/her comments about this being an excellent movie. I disagree with FeiLongEx who is from the US and heavily criticizes the movie, especially the accents, which he/she does not understand. I have seen many movies, animated and otherwise, that my 6 year old granddaughter enjoys, and which sometimes have atrocious American accent voice-overs that do not fit. Also, a number of movies starring Americans, such as Robin Hood King of Thieves and played by Kevin Costner who makes no attempt to hide his American accent. Remember that Mist is a BBC TV production and is not only in the best possible taste as a family story, but the voice-overs are mainly done by famous British and Irish actors and actresses.

    Alias for Fern

I think that FeiLongEX is really an alias for Fern. Who else would say such nasty things about a wonderful and funny feel-good movie -- the kind this world can use many more of. I loved the story of Mist, the characters (even Fern!), the landscape, the music, the accents, everything. This movie makes me wish I could live on a sheep farm in Devon and be friends with the people behind the animal voices. I thought they did a fantastic job. I live with a rescued deaf Border collie who has a very strong herding instinct, and it is educational to see working sheepdogs in action and learn a bit about the training process. Watching it through the dog's perspective made it all the more interesting. I plan to tell lots of friends about this gem of a movie and am very much looking forward to watching the sequel that was just barely released.

This movie made me want to blow my brains out

It's the DVD cover that sold this movie for me. I love puppies and I'm a sucker for animal movies. One of the best being Homeward Bound. But this movie seems more like hours worth of home video footage spliced together with HORRIBLE voice acting and narration put on top of it. The people that voiced theses characters are among the worst I have ever heard. Some of the accents these people came up with were just terrible. It would be much more enjoyable watching this movie on MUTE! But even then it's not very good. The camera work is very amateurish. The picture is often out of focus and they don't even do a good job at keeping the dogs on screen all the time.

This movie is good for ages 2 and under. For everybody else, watch a better movie or buy a dog calendar.
