This movie is well done in all the technical aspects, some very good acting and others that just reach the average, but mainly this is a step forward for the Dominican movie industry. The social crisis that is crafted in the film is a day to day situation that is lived by every Dominican fellow.
This is a strong subject that could have reached bigger proportions but in a way sometimes it fails to get the maximum drama out of the plot situations and falls into funny moments. I would say that the final 3 minutes of the film should had been edited and this would have made this film a lot better.
Kudos for Frank Perozo, Henky Madera, and for all the technical staff.

I absolutely hated this movie. Even though the movie wanted to transmit some kind of social message, it was done in such a cliché ridden and melodramatic way like a Mexican soap opera.
Also the acting was terrible especially Charityn and her son. That's one of the problems with dominican movies, they use celebrities that can't even act just to attract the masses.
I'm even more ashamed about the positive reviews here which sadly means Dominicans are just being condescending to what's done here instead of giving honest and critical opinions that will help our film industry base itself on quality.

Just saw it last night, and I have to say, i got a hell of a lot more than I expected.
The writing was great, some characters were really good, some were over acted, but hey... it's still a great improvement.
I have to say that hands down, the best performance was from Frank Perozo...Shalim's, not so great...It looked fake, and i couldn't buy the whole poor boy act.
Cuquin and Milly's characters were really good too. Charitin's wasn't my favorite, but it was good anyway.
The only thing I DIDN't like was the ending, how they explained what was of the whole cast...It just was disappointing... Take away that last part, and I'd probably would of given it a 9...
I recommend it all the way... I must say...Dominican Cinema is surely improving

I liked this movie. Good acting, subject and drama. I felt that I was one of the characters of the movie myself.
this movie is a voice of the young, talented and idealist society that is rising in DR and I hope that inspire everyone, not only to make good movies but to make great things in real life and help built something better for the current and future generations.
It shows what is happening with the youth on both sides of the society, the black and white and also the grey areas. It remind us to pay attention to the corruption that is among us. It remind us that with good intentions, ideas, heart and the ambition pointing to the right direction, and also with good company (does not matter if you leave in a mansion or a "ranchito" or "callejon") you can accomplish great things... and along that path help the people around you.
"kudos" to everyone that was part of this project.

I just saw Yuniol in Dominican Republic, and i have to say i'm more than satisfied with the movie, i'm Dominican and i don't usually like to see Dominican movies because they try to sell us the same stuff we see on Dominican TV everyday, same stories, same characters, i mean, lack of creativity, but with Yuniol, everything's changing, i was impressed with the acting, Shalim is great in the movie, i loved Frank Perozo's performance, Charytin, Milly, Cuquín, Hemky, René Castillo, the were just great, this is an example that we're getting into the movie business.
The story is simply the reality we live in our country everyday and not everybody knows(or simply don't want to know), it shows you how life is in the districts, and how very poor people has to struggle to try to be someone in life, to be able to do something for their people, for their country. The only thing i really didn't like about the movie was the last couple of minutes, the way they ended it, besides that i loved it!! Congratulations to the crew, and Thumbs Up to Alfonso Rodríguez, he did a great job!!!
