    Don't...Just Don't; You've Been Warned

Once again the numbers game is rigged; there are 8 glowing reviews that would like you to believe this is the greatest movie in the "horror" genre. If it were the "horrible" genre it would qualify without even trying. The acting is abominable, but why pick on that when you can throw in the script (plot, dialogue) and direction. Watch this only of you have no other form of entertainment, including watching something cook in a microwave (or even gas or electric) oven.

    Surprisingly watchable.

The only genre I have consistently enjoyed throughout the years is the horror genre. However, I'm getting more than fed up with some of the genre movies of recent years, that do absolutely nothing new and besides are poorly put together ones. Perhaps therefore I also wasn't really expecting much from this unknown little genre movie but as it turned out, it's a surprisingly watchable one!

Can't say that this is a brilliant or very effective genre movie but it least still does plenty of things right, which so many other movies do wrong. First of all, the characters are actually being somewhat likable. Normally these sort of movie, that have teenage characters in it, start to get on your nerves after a while, especially when some of them start doing some incredibly stupid and unlikely things. I never felt that this movie was going down that road as well.

The movie besides does a pretty decent job at telling its story. It's actually nice to see that the movie takes its time to develop things and don't get into the 'action' right away. It's actually telling you a story, instead of using its story as an excuse to have as many gruesome killings in it as possible. Also the non-linear storytelling does add to some of the movie its originality. Yes, it's still a very clichéd movie but at least things get brought differently this time, which lets the movie sort of work out as a refreshing one, even despite not being all that original.

The actual plot still remains a bit shaky. I mean, the whole killer aspect of the movie is being a bit too far fetched, even for my taste. The movie right now is being like a combination of a typical teenage slasher and a horror movie with supernatural aspects in it. It makes the movie feel a bit like an unbalanced one at times and also a bit of a mixed bag. Sometimes things work out but at other moments it makes the movie a bit too much of a ridicules and far fetched one.

But really, as a whole this movie is being a pretty good and enjoyable one. Especially when you are into the genre, this movie is worth giving a shot.

    Really Reviewers?

I couldn't believe when I saw this flick and jumped on IMDb to see the user reviews there was nothing but praise, it didn't make any sense! It does make sense if you had some kind of connection to the piece though, one reviewer mentioned it's a great movie to have friends over and scare each other, I think my friends would be skeptical of my intelligence if I invited them over to watch this rot, they certainly wouldn't be coming to another movie night at my house!

Absolutely awful movie, boring drawn out storyline, no good action, if you can handle over an hour of bad actors yelling I'm cold or where's Ricky (something like that I can't even remember any names they were that useless) then this movie is for you but if you like something that seems like there was any thought put into it at all I'd give it a miss.

    Expection

I don't have much to say except this- once all those Hollywood movies that rely on a CGI creature/monster, tons of blood, gore, and fake, sudden scares are long forgotten, this one will definitely stand out. This is a dramatic, moving, and nonetheless truly frightening psychological thriller. I enjoyed this teaser better than any other (the reason being- its beautiful score and stunning performances from Richmond Arquette and Darcy Fowers) This is not your traditional horror movie, this is what movies is all about. P.S You'll enjoy it more if you watch it on a DVD system, in the dark, by yourself, on the biggest TV set you can find =]

    Scary

My husband took me to see the teaser and when he said it was a horror I was expecting to sit through another of his kind of horror films i.e.stupid teenagers with lots of gratuitous blood, guts and violence thrown in. I was fortunately very mistaken!I am glad I saw this first as it is good not to have anything to compare it to. Taken by itself, I think it is a fantastic film. It's not everyone's cup of tea and the usual horror fans may think it slow, incomprehensible or just plain unscary. However, I loved the mystery and weirdness of it. One thing that I think really robs horror films of their ultimate "horror" value is when you come to the explanation/discovery of what's behind it all at the end. I thought the film had let itself down with a typical, rationalised ending. I was very pleasantly surprised with the horrifying twist that developed and I loved the eerie "non-ending" ending - it left me really freaked out and actually believing that the whole thing might be real after all. It is wonderful, psychologically terrifying stuff and I defy anyone to watch it and forget it - I am still thinking about it and giving myself the shivers months later! I won't give any film 10/10, as this is the ultimate and I am always challenging for there to be an even better film out there I give it a superior "must see" 9/10.
