4 hjul og en overhaling

In a time where the the TV stations are pumping out new and old lifestyle programs and "Fix my marriage/car/house/dog/kids/garden/etc" programs this program tried to cater for 2 groups at once. It was featured as a "monster garage" theme program where a person or family got their old banged up car totally revamped and styled. Sadly someone in the production wanted to make something for the ladies so they crossed the program with a "lifestyle expert" that had to find 3 things in the house of the owner of the car and the mechanics had to try to incorporate these things into the car's design.

Offcourse this approach failed because the ladies did not want to look at the car styling half and the guys did not care much for the styling expert part so ratings dropped fast already at episode 2.

Also it soon became apparent that the people that got selected to be on the program was chosen for their house, social status and their history rather than being selected amongst people that actually needed a hand financially to get their old car running. This became very clear when the first episode featured a hotel manager for a large hotel chain, with a major house and a fat salary get an old banged up Volkswagen styled with the bad story that he drove it to work every day and it was not up to his standards as a manager. (In real life he drives an Audi and even if he had only had that old car, he would easily have been able to buy a new car and scrap the old one)..
