    Starts Brilliantly.. but fades

What can i say, the first hour in i was hooked. I was ready for the explosion and it just never came. i was watching intently taking everything in, At times surprisingly Laughing away at the brilliant antics of the staff in Particularly the Charismatic and Has to be said Devilishly handsome 'Spencer' but the plot just seemed to take some kind of twist in what felt like the wrong direction, all the other characters i had enjoyed thus far seemed to get left behind and the series of turns and twists seemed hard to follow. I wanted to see more of what i enjoyed, why build the characters up and not use them.Izzard was great in a straight role and was my dangling carrot. but some of it just seemed non-believable there's no way the grace character would ever go for Danny it looked out of place. having said that overall i enjoyed it immensely. it looked fantastic and although there where some standout moments and performances eg. Spencer and Izzard. it was well acted through out.

    I wouldn't advise it.

I really wanted to like this show, I really did.

I did at first. It started out interesting enough. The main kid, Danny, was likable, if a bit of a rogue, and I liked the behind-the-scenes aspect of the restaurant world. But about an hour into part 1, everything took a turn for the unbelievable.

I could swallow a few of the plot twists, but after a while it all became too much. The probation officer and the sous chief were beyond ridiculous two-dimensional characters.

It's very pretty looking and rather well-acted, and maybe if you're in the mood for a melodramatic, crime drama centered on a kitchen staff with far too many issues, this would be right up your alley. But honestly, only sheer love of Eddie Izzard kept me watching part 2.

"Kitchen" was good when it stayed in the kitchen; once it wandered out, it was all downhill.

A very funny and dramatic drama

this show does please, and is a very funny take of (in and out) the kitchen. this show really works and provides some magic comedy moment's, lets hope we see more episodes of this quality show. Izzard plays the part of Nick Malone very well and the other characters provide the rest of what the show needed. i can easily see this as a normal kitchen in Glasgow. the antics that the workers get up to makes the drama real. this was the first time a take on kitchen life was portrayed in drama form, and lets hope it doesn't stop. kitchen is one of those dramas you would watch every week as you no it would not fail to entertain.

Too much frill on the plate.

I agree, "Kitchen" is fun for the first half, and the character Danny is likable. It is also fun to see actors who played parts in "Rome." All hail to the Scots, but the Scottish accent is difficult to interpret, for this American. It does not affect the quality of the production, only my enjoyment of it.

Danny's antics are fun until they take a strange and unbelievable twist. At about the same time, other characters' stories take twists, too, mostly hard to believe. Eddie's character Nick is almost hidden by all the melodrama.

The food looked okay - I wouldn't mind eating at that restaurant as long as I don't know what they do in the kitchen.
