    "B"igfoot

Alright, so yes this is another "B" grade horror flick. Yes the scripting could have been better, yes there's over acting, yes it might look a little like someone rubbed onion juice in the lead actors eyes. And yes, the monsters do look somewhat like extras dressed up in beige off cuts, from the local carpet factory.

That said, if you can put these perceived shortcomings aside, this is not a bad little "B"igfoot horror flick. The acting from the lead actor, if you can put the teary eyed thing aside, is actually pretty good. He hands in an above average performance, as in fact, do most of the cast. The scripting is patchy but there's enough creativity on offer here, to make this flick quite watchable. Some of the jokes are pretty darn good too.

Where this film really shines though, is it does manage to pull off some reasonable scares. Its not terrifying but in the opening and closing scenes its actually does give you goose bumps and raise a few hairs on the back of the neck. There's a couple of good jump scares on offer too.

So once again little B-movie-ville manages to do better than its Hollyweed, oops I mean Hollywood, counterparts. Well done guys. I hope you make a sequel! Seven out of ten from me.

    Best film of the millennium!

I'm not kidding when I say this is one of my favorite horror films to date, this film was just awesome. I am an old school horror film all the way. I hate just about any film that comes out anymore, they lack originality. If it's not a remake, it's a rip off. Finally though, something original has arrived. There is nothing like Paper Dolls, I can't compare it to any other film out there. I don't know how it's not in theaters, but do what you can to see it, you will not regret it. I have yet to see their other film, Roulette, but I would suggest seeing that as well if you can. The creators of Paper Dolls are very original and creative. Anything they make, their vision and creative shows.

    Only reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1

I'll start by saying the only reason I rated it a 2 instead of a 1 is because anytime I see a movie made without any kind of budget I will never rate it a 1 because they are trying regardless. I reserve my 1 ratings for movies that have a big budget and are backed by a studio. Something like the Blair witch project. I don't understand how people like that movie. It is so boring.. but onto this movie. How anyone would ever and I mean EVER give this movie a high rating or say how scared they were are either the dumbest people or people that can't go outside of their room without crapping themselves because their footstep was too loud. The only other reason would be because they are either involved with the film or know someone that was. Just trust me if you enjoy watching movies or even just staring at absolutely nothing, you'd be a million times better off staring at a blank screen for a couple days than trying to get through this movie. You could even hate staring at nothing and still be better off doing so. Ughhhhh I wish I never watched this pile of garbage and I hope that my review can save someone from doing the same.

    Hidden gem

I saw this originally at a festival in 2008 and had been searching for years, I'm so thrilled to have found it on amazon prime albeit under a different title. The Paper Dolls that I remembered was still just as good under the title Black Forest, a refreshing take on the theory of Sasquatch with some really well developed plot twists and red herrings. For a low budget film this should worry Hollywood, thouroghly enjoyed this and highly recommend.

Not that bad, but not that great. Just, Meh.

Been reading IMDb reviews for years, but this is the First review I've done. No spoilers here, just an opinion. I saw a number of reviews giving praise to this movie, so thought I'd give it a go. Not nearly as good as I thought it would be, or even could be. But it really wasn't a trainwreck either. Not sorry I watched it, I mean The first half hour or so actually had my stomach kinda knotting up with tension, but then...... Interesting take on Bigfoot, but it kinda fell flat, for me anyway. It was done well, but it just seems to have missed the mark of reaching what could have been a very good film. Acting was definitely not A-list grade, pacing was okay, atmosphere was there, tension and fear were absolutely there for the first half-hour. All in all, not a bad trip to take on a Saturday night.
