The game sold enough copies to qualify for a "Greatest Hits" re-release. In anticipation for this, SingleTrac decided to optimize the game by increasing the framerate and having all tracks unlocked from the start. It was dubbed "Jet Moto 2: Championship Edition". However, SingleTrac was informed by Sony that any titles released under the "Greatest Hits" line couldn't have any differences between that and the first release. Nevertheless, the "Championship Edition" version is what ended up getting published. As a result, "Jet Moto 2" remains one of the few, if only, Playstation re-releases in the "Greatest Hits" line-up which differs from its initial release.
