"Le génie de la boîte de raviolis" (2006 release from Switzerland; 8 min.) is a stop-motion animated movie. As the movie opens, we see a guy working in a factory that makes canned raviolis. When ht gets home from his work shift and opens his pantry to fix dinner, we notice he has nothing but ravioli cans. He opens one and magically a genie pops out, telling him he can get two wishes come true. The guy now has to decide which two wishes...
This is nothing short of a delightful stop-motion movie, and it is amazing how much is covered in just 8 minutes. Of course at the end of those 8 min., I only wished it lasted longer. I recently saw this in the theater as the opening movie for another delightful (and Oscar-nominated) stop-motion animated movie from Switzerland, "My Life As a Zucchini".
If you have the opportunity to see "The Genius In the Can of Raviolis", do not miss it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I had a children's book when I was a kid. I don't remember the name unfortunately; there was a woman who owned a restaurant, but only served canned spaghetti and the food was awful. One day the can she chooses from her pantry -- filled exclusively with canned spaghetti -- contains a genie. This book was published likely in the 70's, based on the art style.
If anyone remembers this book I would love to know it!
