Blood Creek

This was a "stuff of legends" terrible movie. It is one of the worst movies I have ever watched all the way through. It became a complete train wreck that I couldn't stop watching.

The acting is horrible. There was not a single redeeming performance in this movie. The evil characters are laughable and the victims are hapless. The story is also horrible. This is a 90 minute movie. The characters don't even get to the haunted barn until 45 minutes have elapsed and the ghosts don't strike until 70 minutes in. This leaves only 20 minutes for the real story.

I can't really describe the story. The kids were doing some rituals but they did them wrongly. Some stuff happened. The kids tried to redo the rituals. I don't know if the redo worked.

Even with all this, I probably would have given this one a 2 or a 3 review if it wasn't for the editing. Occasionally, a movie has a jarring edit. This movie has one jarring, jumping edit after another. Characters move; scenes change; dialogue breaks. I have never seen anything this bad in any movie. I would pass on this movie just for this reason alone. It is actually disorienting.

This is a terrible movie. I do not recommend it.

The only "horror" that comes from this movie is the horror you will experience after watching it when you try to figure out how in the world something this bad could be made and go insane. Also I am horrified that someone actually paid $1.99 to get this horrible DVD and all they bought with that money was the opportunity to have one and a half hours of their sweet precious life stolen away from them! I want my hour in a half back, how was I even able to sit through this horrible movie? I have never seen worse acting and the script is so awful it goes beyond being laughingly bad (which at least isn't a total loss because you at least get a couple laughs out of it, some enjoyment) to just awful bad. This movie really is that bad. Again I can't complain enough about the horrible direction, pathetic writing that seems to have been done by a 7 year old boy who just watched Blair Witch Project or maybe even just improvised on the fly by the terrible cast, which again reminds me to complain about how awful the actors are in this awful awful movie. I certainly hope whoever made this movie never ever works again.

Blood Creek is an interesting movie with a good story. You can tell the production value didn't have a lot of money, but I thought the actors did a good job. The story talks about a group of campers who head into the town of Blood Creek for one last summer party. They stumble upon the Dark Lady, a ghost, and things get scary from there. There are some effective scenes in the old abandoned house, and the set looks very scary. My favorite scene was the one with the goth-looking guy and the good-looking blonde girl who looks like Jessica Simpson, when they are in the barn and start seeing the ghost of the farmer every time they close their eyes. The editing of the film was also interesting, as it keeps cutting to give it a jumping feeling. Overall, I was happy with the movie for your typical low-budget scare!
