    Well Constructed

One of my favorites. If anyone knows what Nixon and Johnson were up to in the 60's and 70's it would be apparent that their henchmen had all the liberties and tools to go after the people who disagreed with them. Go look at that memorial in Washington D. C., brave young people who died because of a bunch of fat and often crooked politicians could live their lives in comfort. This is a work of fiction but it brought back lots of dirty tricks that were played. Now that you've seen this, get some books on the Vietnam war and watch a documentary like the one Ken Burns put together.

    • Goofs
Sinclair says 98% pure nitric acid is needed to make Nitroglycerin and that it is difficult to get. That is not true, concentrated Nitric Acid can be bought at ant chemical supply company, and we had bottles of it in our school chemical storeroom. It is common and easy to buy, although expensive.

[after the case is wrapped up, Don walks into the house to clear the air with his father]

Don Eppes: Look, you know, I'm aware that the Bureau has some bad history.

Alan Eppes: Is that an apology?

Don Eppes: I'm just saying, it was a different time, you know? And I know that.

Alan Eppes: Donnie, I'm the same guy I was then. I still believe in the same things.

      Don Eppes: Yeah, well, good.

[Charlie enters, but sits hidden at the top of the stairs, just listening in. Alan tosses down his newspaper and sighs at Don]

Alan Eppes: You know, when you told me you were going to join the FBI, you know -- you know what the first thought I had was?

Don Eppes: Where did I go wrong?

Alan Eppes: ...Honestly, yes. Because I thought you wanted to do something as different from Charlie and the rest of us as possible.

Don Eppes: No. I knew it was something I was going to be good at.

      Alan Eppes: And you are.

      Don Eppes: Yeah.

Alan Eppes: No, I mean it. You are, Donnie. Maybe it's because your mother and I brought you guys up to do the kind of work that really matters in this world.

Don Eppes: And, you know, look, I didn't have to read the file, okay? Cuz I knew that, ultimately, I would respect anything that you or Mom were involved with.

[Alan and Don exchange a look, and Alan nods, satisfied. Then, after a moment...]

      Don Eppes: ...Commie.

      Alan Eppes: G-man.

[Don grins and laughs, Alan asks where they're going to dinner, and Charlie bounds down the stairs, happy to join them at the new Italian place]

Alan Eppes: Hey, at least it's good to know when it comes to food, you're still both your father's sons.
