    What the heck,Charlie ! ?

Geez... Charlie! This certainly isn't the first-time Charlie has made a fool of himself over a woman.

He's proven quite prone to doing this over the years.

However, this time might be the funniest we've seen yet. 🤡

In this episode our Charlie turns into a love-sick sap over a lady that is a notorious long-time grifter and con-artist !

Several people on the wagon-train try to warn Charlie about this lady but Charlie has been bitten by the love bug and there is no stopping him or slowing him from making a fool of himself.

Charlie pulls out all the stops and spends his time waiting on this woman hand-and-foot while seemingly getting nothing back in return from her.

This is a silly and humorous episode,I liked it. 8/10.

    Frontier fortune teller

Thelma Ritter with her deadpan acting steals the show in the title role of this Wagon Train story. She has a fortune telling act and she's being escorted out of town by Mayor Richard Deacon who brings her to John McIntire and asks him to take her out of town. The scene with the officious Deacon, the deadpan Ritter and wagonmaster McIntire is worth seeing alone.

Once she joins she makes enemies with the pilgrims who want warranties on her predictions. Only Frank McGrath speaks up for her. In particular she helps unite a Romeo and Juliet pair of young lovers Doug Lambert and Zeme North.

Charlie Wooster in a rare occasion is given a bit of romance and Frank McGrath looks like he's enjoying the change. But Thelma Ritter is just outstanding in this story.

    "The Old Gray Wooster"

Older single people who once loved in their past or, worse yet, love passed them by, is the theme of this episode. Frank McGrath's character, chuckwagon cook, Charlie Wooster is often the subject of derision or dismissal. It's nice that occasionally he is given a chance to shine when he falls in love with pragmatist Thelma Ritter's "astrologer," Madame Sagitarius. It's a treat for viewers who are their age to see them together as they reminisce about their lives and the roads they've taken--good and bad. McGrath and Ritter should have both been nominated for Emmys. Enjoy this episode through your tears.

Wagon Train Tracker: The train is depicted as being in the vicinity of Beaver City, which is in south central Nebraska. That would place the train heading west on the Oregon Trail, halfway through Nebraska.
