This episode was part of a special crossover night with other shows in the TGIF programming block., beginning with the Sabrina, l'apprentie sorcière (1996) episode Inna-Gadda-Sabrina (1997), which featured Salem transporting the cast to the 1960s; followed by the Incorrigible Cory (1993) episode No Guts, No Cory (1997), set in the 1940s; the You Wish (1997) episode Genie Without a Cause (1997), set in the 1950s; and finally,"One Dog Night," set in the 1970s.

Goofs
When Marty turns the dog into a man, he's lying naked across the bed on his stomach. Marty exclaims, "Oy, his pupik is showing!" This is untrue, "pupik" is a Yiddish word for bellybutton.
