A tiny bit like a poor super-talky re-imagining of "Casablanca".

This particular episode has an overall rating of 9.1. After watching it, I have no idea why it's so highly rated. I felt it was almost good...almost.

The film is a super-talky re-imagining of "Casablanca". Too many details have been changed to make it a remake. Again and again, however, the show chooses to TALK about action instead of showing any and the romance between the leads (Jane Greer and Rory Calhoun) almost makes me think that they give a darn about each other! Does it sound like I am rather cold about this? You betcha!

The story begins in Paris. Peter (Calhoun) is approached by Clare (Greer) and she begs him to help her and her husband. Now Clare is Peter's ex-wife. She left him for her current husband and you wonder many things....why Peter would possibly want to help as well as why he still carries a torch for her. However, he's soon approached by a man who indicates he's from the US military and he informs Peter that Clare's husband is evil...a traitor who must be found.

The bottom line is that every time the film looked like it could have action or become romantic, it avoided it...making for a very talking and drawn out show. And, the finale...well, I guessed the twist long before it was finally unveiled...making the wait anti-climactic indeed.
