    Moments of Happiness

When the L.A. Lyric Opera lighting designer Robert Lamar Giffin dies of cardiomyopaty, his mate for twenty-two years and scenic designer Kevin Lamb proposes David and Nate to build the scenario of Turandot for the funeral services. Lisa decides to make a birthday party for Ruth and invites Bettina and Keith. Bettina takes Ruth for her first massage and she loves the sensation. Claire goes to a lecture of the famous artist Scott Philip Smith with her friend Russell Corwin, and later they are invited by their art professor Olivier Castro-Staal to join Scott and have some drinks. Olivier discloses his sincere opinion about the artistic veins of Claire and Russell.

"Nobody Sleeps" is a unique episode of "Six Feet Under", since I believe this is the first time that I see Ruth and Claire really happy and feeling well. Bettina is improving Ruth, and Claire seems to be coming-to-age and feeling very well in the art school. Nate seems to be frustrated with his marriage and fighting to have a good behavior, while David seems to be insecure with Keith. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Ninguém Dorme" ("Nobody Sleeps")

    Six Feet Under Opera

A rare occasion where A Six Feet under ends in moment(s) of elation for the Fischer family. Claire is having higher aspirations, and the funeral is probably one of the best of the series. Out of what has been a pretty lackluster and in-between season so far, this hits home as one of the stronger episodes.

    • Trivia
The title is a direct translation of the Italian aria "Nessum Dorma" which features in the episode's funeral scene.
    • Goofs
David claims that there are more bones in human feet than the rest of the body combined. This is not true. There are 26 bones in each foot, totaling 52. Human body has about 210 bones.
    • Quotes

Lisa: Nate used to be like that... sometimes you just have to hang in there and wait.

      Claire: Wait for what?

Lisa: For them to grow up.

Claire: If I'd known he was going to be such a jerk I never would have slept with him in that crematorium.
