Both Matt Dillon's Deputys Are Here

Another espionage episode, and better than the literal previous episode. Features Burt Reynolds as an unnamed assassin. Reynolds was first to replace (kind of) Dennis Weaver as Marshall Dillon's deputy on Gunsmoke because Ken Curtis famously took that job for a decade. Reynolds looks cool and tough here, and Sean Penn's father Leo has a role. Pretty intriguing but a bit confusing.

Both Ken Curtis and Burt Reynolds would, at different times, replace Dennis Weaver on Gunsmoke. Reynolds for two seasons as Quint, and then much more famously, Curtis would play Festus for the last decade of the twenty-year series.
