    Sick burns all around

I would've given "Laserblast" the benefit of the doubt based solely on its sweet title. Sadly, that is something this movie does not live up to (haha, Maltin gave this turkey 2-and-a-half stars). But it does make for a kickass MST3K.

Mike and the bots are here with knives sharpened for this blazing piece of incompetence. The main character (geez, that guy's a pitiful douche), the hick stereotype Sheriff's deputy, the inept direction. The movie's awful, but the jokes land beautifully. More than that, the wit seems to kick into overdrive during the film's second half (in which Mike shows up in drag, giving you an idea as to the level of derangement here).

But I do wish that title wasn't wasted on this pile.

    • Quotes

Mike Nelson: [the sheriff in Laserblast bears a striking resemblance to Hank Williams Jr] Look, are you READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

Mike Nelson: Man, I've gotta go home and get READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

Crow T. Robot: Let's find out of he's READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

Mike Nelson: What do we got, another citizen who isn't READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

Crow T. Robot: Anyway, all my rowdy friends are coming over later.

Crow T. Robot: I just feel like you're not ready for some football.

Tom Servo: Anything you say can be used to get you READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!

Tom Servo: I'm not ready for football anymore.

Tom Servo: [Sheriff is cracking open a Coke bottle] Hey, he knows how to use a Coke!

Mike Nelson: [In tune with old Coca-Cola jingle] I'd like to teach the world to GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!
