The Italian Connection

The cat and mouse snobbery games continue.

When Mr and Mrs Wyse admire Lucia's paintings. Mapp knows the game is up as she rejected Lucia and Georgie's entries to the art exhibition.

Lucia decides to spare Mapp's brushes. Knowing that she has got one over Mapp.

The latter has a chance of revenge. Knowing that both Lucia and Georgie only know a smattering of Italian.

Mr Wyse's sister is visiting from Italy. She is the Countess Faraglione having married an Italian aristocrat.

It will mean Lucia conversing in Italian and she does not know the language.

Lucia falls ill and Georgie bolts out of town but in a stroke of luck. He meets a family that knows the Italian language.

There is some clever levels of oneupwomanship but this is a slight story. At times I find both women loathsome.
