    The locked room

It's none other than Rock Hudson's trusty aide John Schuck who our San Francisco police commissioner out of a most elaborate murder frame . The victim here is none other than Lorraine Gary who is Sergeant Enright's ex-wife. These two must have had one rocky marriage, But at a party in a locked room here all can be heard, a murder is heard. Gary is supposedly shot down by Schuck. It's a trap Agatha Christie would have envied. Even the forensics are fooled somewhat. But it's the forensics that are Schuck's salvation. Big kudos go to Lorraine Gary as one crazy lady.

Just When You Thought It Safe To See The Ex-Wife Again!

Lorraine Gary was a guest performer in the first season. In the second season episode, she played Monica Fontaine, Sergeant Enright's angry, vindictive ex-wife comes to town. When she gets shot in Enright's attendance, Mac has to prove his best friend and colleague is innocent. Lorraine Gary really shined well in this performance. She was truly exceptional playing the bitter and angry ex-wife of a cop. The marriage must have been a disaster. Like most episodes, there are layers of details unfolded during the episode. E

Mac doesn't find out that Monica had cancer until talking to her psychiatrist. However, the autopsy and her medical records would have already revealed that.
